Paul and Jarrad are excited to announce the SOTG program to reach out to veteran-owned businesses. Student of the Gun has launched a Vet Owned Business Outreach to help them grow and improve their companies.

Is this the year that American patriots become fed up and start fighting back? The options seem fairly simple; either fight back against out of control government tyranny or submit and have your rights stripped away one by one.

Our Warrior of the Week has a question about the use of an AR pistol for home defense. How do we balance self-defense ammunition with less expensive practice ammo? Professor Paul takes a moment to consider the rifle as a power tool versus a precision instrument.

Thanks for being a part of SOTG! We hope you find value in the message we share. If you’ve got any questions, here are some options to contact us:

Do I zero my red dot sight for the defense ammo or the training ammo? They don’t coincide at all. Or am I forced to zero before and after every range session, or just use sub-optimal loads.

From www.military.com:

Beginning Jan. 2, airmen at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, will no longer be able to carry their personal firearms on base, even if they lock them up in their cars first.

Col. Gavin Marks, commander of Offutt's 55th Wing, issued the change, which the base announced in a Facebook post Monday.

"The current policy, which authorizes registered Department of Defense ID card holders with a Nebraska Concealed Handgun License (CHL) and holders of reciprocating state concealed carry license (CCL) to transport and secure privately-owned handguns in privately-owned vehicles within the base, will no longer be valid," the Facebook post reads. "This policy change comes as a result of the commander's initial review of the Offutt AFB Integrated Defense and Antiterrorism Plan, a requirement to be completed within 120 days of assuming command."

From www.washingtonexaminer.com:

Marines and civilian personnel in Marine Corps law enforcement roles will be allowed to carry their personal concealed firearms while on base, the head of Marine Corps policy announced on Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. George Smith sent a memo to the entire force telling them that military police, criminal investigators, and Marine Corps Law Enforcement Program police officers will be allowed to carry concealed weapons off-duty. Approximately 3,200 individuals will be eligible to carry their personal firearms under the new policy, Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Joseph Butterfield told the Washington Examiner.

Smith’s memo follows last month's shootings at Naval Air Station Pensacola and at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam near Honolulu. The attacks left five dead and nine injured. Pearl Harbor gunman Gabriel Romero, a Navy sailor, killed himself at the scene. Pensacola shooter Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, a Saudi Air Force second lieutenant, was shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies.

From dailycaller.com:

As if Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s wholesale attack on law-abiding gun owners wasn’t enough, the disgraced public official and his Michael Bloomberg-bought allies in the General Assembly now want the state’s hard-working taxpayers to foot the bill for their unconstitutional schemes. The budget bill (HB30) includes an appropriation of a quarter million dollars to carry out a host of gun control measures that Northam and his anti-gun allies hope to enact.

The $250,000 is appropriated to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund in order to provide for the “increase in the operating cost of adult correctional facilities resulting from the enactment” of Northam’s gun control measures. Among the enumerated laws that this allocation is meant to fund is a ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms, the criminalization of private firearms transfers, and gun confiscation orders issued without due process.
