300: Rise of the Empire (2014) is hacking and slashing its gory way through the competition at the box office this weekend. The film is spectacular in its graphics, style and star Eva Green. While the grue-crew is not in 100 percent agreement, the conversation gets into the crazed violent, abundance of bloodshed and one specific line of dialog - which cannot be repeated here. If you have seen the film, you know the one!

Santos Ellin Jr. steps in for Thomas, who is off to SXSW, to provide this week's Top 5 discussing five of his favorite horror movie quotes. The man has a thing for colorful language, so the list is entertaining as ...well, you know. Dave, as always, has the Horror News of the Week and does not disappoint!

Co-hosts Doc RottenSantos (The Black Saint) Ellin Jr., and Dave Dreher are back again this week for another fantastic episode of Horror News Radio, the official HorrorNews.Net podcast. BUT FIRST! Before we get too far into this episode's fantastic content, BIG NEWS! Announcing, the HNR grue-crew are going on the road with a horror convention tour spring 2014 beginning with The Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, North Carolina, March 21-23. SEE YOU THERE! Be sure to go to their Facebook page and give them a like. Tell 'em Horror News Radio sent you!

00:03:50 – 300: Rise of the Empire
While the film is all about the beefy men behind Greece and the 300, it is Eva Green as Artemisia that wins all the praise and love from the HNR crew. She is spectacular and the best thing in 300: Rise of the Empire. Santos is also all about the over-the-top bloodshed and action the film offers while Dave is impressed with the 3D. Doc, however, has issues but admits it may be more about the screening experience than that actual film. You need to listen to understand that debacle. The grue-crew review the film in all its 3D gory mayhem.

00:40:30 – Top 5 Horror Quotes
The Black Saint steps in for Thomas to bring his Top 5 for the week jumping on the crew's favorite line from the film bringing his Top 5 horror movie quotes. Santos relishes the opportunity to re-enact each and every quote and then puts Doc and Dave on the spot to drop their favorite as well.

  1. Dead Alive (1992) - "I kick ass for the Lord!"
  2. John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) - "You gotta be f@%king kidding..."
  3. They Live  (1988) - "I came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I am all out of bubble gum."
  4. Child's Play 3  (1991) - "Don't f@%k with the Chuck!"
  5. Phantasm  (1979) - "BOY!"

00:46:17 - Horror News of the Week for 03/10/2014
Dave Dreher starts off the Horror News of the Week with the teaser trailer for Fear Clinic from director Robert Hall. Sticking with trailers, up next is the red band delight that is Stage Fright from director Jerome Sable featuring Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf. The action-packed TV spot and kick ass stills for The Raid 2 excite the crew. It looks like a 4K transfer of the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre is on its way to theaters this fall. And, last but not least, Mondo has release a spectacular exclusive poster to promote this summer's Godzilla.
