Released on Jan 5, 2017

John Lee Dumas is the host of the EOFire podcast, a show focused on interviewing successful entrepreneurs. Before his successful career, he was a country boy and went to college on an army scholarship, then went to join the army shortly after that. When his life as a soldier ended, he spent six years drifting in life not knowing what to do after. As life went by, he found an interest in business and became decided to launching a podcast catering to that particular topic.

Today, John tells us why he decided to put health and fitness as his new priority, what his daily routine is, and his thoughts on intermittent fasting.

"I'm going to use the best of myself to accomplish the most meaningful task of my day.” John Lee Dumas

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • While he was successful with his podcast career, he realized he needed to put his own health ahead of everything.
  • His morning ritual starts by waking up without an alarm clock and just letting the sun do its job. He then exercises first thing in the morning. After exercise, he showers, get ready for the day, but spends 5 minutes for meditation first. He would then start journaling and work.
  • He says journaling is the most important task for his business. He will get into other people’s agendas only after he takes care of himself first and his business.
  • Like many successful people, John also prioritizes sleep. He always goes to bed at 9:15 PM to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Any less is not satisfactory.
  • He’s also a huge fan of bone broth and says it’s one of his preferred ways to break his fast.

Key Takeaways:

  • Life in general is a marathon, not a sprint.
  • Money is great, but it would be useless if you’re unhappy and unhealthy.
