Welcome to PTSD Bunker Gear For Your Brain
In Episode 02 we find ourselves taking the first steps into my personal journey of PTSD. T.R.A.S.H being the acronym used to describe the stage, we find ourselves in the first stage, The Fall represented by the letter T.
I found The Fall the most fascinating stage of PTSD. During The Fall, I strongly stood by the belief that PTSD did not exist in the Fire House, as funny and as strange as that may sound. I kinda agreed with other mental disorders, but in the case of PTSD, I believed only hardened combat vets got PTSD.
With this very dangerous mindset, I soon learned that when the ice first breaks, so to speak, and you realize what is happening to you. The only name for this feeling I could think of was the feeling of falling.
PTSD is without a doubt a master of deception. It is within the stage of The Fall, that we find just how deceptive this disorder of PTSD can be. It is this episode of the first stage of PTSD that we pinpoint what I feel is the most dangerous stage of PTSD a person can find themselves in. But more importantly, how to notice the warning signs before PTSD takes too much ground.
