The long developed, long delayed X-Men spin-off Gambit starring Channing Tatum looks to be back on track now as Variety is reporting that Lizzy Caplan is in talks to join the cast as a lead in the film; though her role is being kept under wraps at this time. The movie had its fair share of problems over the years, with two separate directors leaving the project over creative differences before the script went back to the drawing board for a re-write. Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski is attached to direct, with a release date set for February 14th, 2019.
In a new article from Vanity Fair, plot details have been revealed for Quentin Tarantino’s much anticipated movie that recently landed at Sony. The untitled film, going by the working title #9, takes place in the summer of 1969 in Los Angeles and follows “a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and is looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing.” Vanity Fair notes that the murder of Sharon Tate at the hands of the Manson family serves as a backdrop to the main story. Filming is set to begin in June 2018 for a 2019 release yet to be determined.
