Americans want to believe in a bright future in which all people work for the common good, but there are some obstacles in the way.  That's the general finding of extensive interviews across the country.  At a time of little faith in Congress, the media and other institutions, the interviews asked what people would like to see in society.  The results are compiled in "The Work of Hope" by Richard Harwood; he will be our guest.
