The election is over, but the work is just beginning. Democrats won a majority of seats in the Oregon House, ending a 30-30 power sharing split with Republicans. But there's plenty of work ahead, especially on the ever-troubled state budget. House Ways & Means chair Peter Buckley of Ashland will join us to talk about the election behind and the session ahead.
Southern Oregon University is determined to get a grip on its future. SOU, like all the Oregon state universities, spent recent years coping with increasing costs and declining state support. But enrollment has been on an upward trend for a while, and SOU wants to make sure it is offering all it can to its students. Two teams of faculty and staff are charged with coming up with priorities for SOU and its programs. President Mary Cullinan will join us to outline the effort.
