Transitional Kindergarten

The days when kindergarten was all about play are over.  Not only does kindergarten focus more on learning than ever before, it lasts longer for some students through California's "transitional kindergarten," which gives a few kids two years of kindergarten before first grade.

Healthy (or not) in Lane County

A few surprises appear in a recently completed health assessment of Lane County: for one thing, smoking and tobacco-linked cancer rates are a bit higher than the average for Oregon.  You'll hear how the health assessment was compiled and what will be done with the information.
