When we try to make choices based on the environment or sustainability, do we have all the facts? For example, plastic grocery bags are ugly to see on the landscape, but expend remarkably little energy to make. And while re-using a ceramic mug keeps you from using a paper or plastic cup, it takes a lot of energy to make the mug. University of Oregon chemistry professor David Tyler collects some surprising findings in his research on sustainability--which he'll share with us.
