We've debated for eons the sources of cruelty and evil in the human mind.  British psychologist and autism researcher Simon Baron-Cohen offers up a new brain-based theory that zeroes in on the lack of human empathy common to behaviors ranging from the autistic to the psychopathic.  Baron-Cohen's book is "The Science of Evil: On Empathy and The Origins of Cruelty".
