THE BATTLE OF THE SOUL Psalm 13 Amid life’s trials and tribulations, it’s common to echo the words of the Psalmist, asking, “How long, O Lord?” In Psalm 13, we see a heartfelt cry of desperation and longing for God’s intervention. As we delve into this passage, let’s reflect on our moments of waiting and how we can find hope and faith in their midst. Restore Us, O Lord  Love Returned Series  Lamentations 5 Often, it takes reaching the depths of exhaustion and despair before we muster the resolve to change. Once we've tasted the richness of God's grace and strayed from its embrace, the stark contrast of a life steeped in sin becomes painfully evident. We find ourselves akin to forsaken wanderers (verse 3), cast onto the unforgiving streets, vulnerable and pleading for redemption. Deep within, we acknowledge that we ultimately bear responsibility for our circumstances. While we may inherit patterns of transgression from our...

YET, STILL, I DARE TO HOPE Love Returned Series Lamentations 3   As we delve into Lamentations 3 and confront the harsh reality of our existence, we realize that despite being children of God and bearing the kingdom of heaven within us, we remain entrenched in a world marred by sin and suffering.    Our anguish may stem from our transgressions or the wrongdoing of others. Jeremiah, the prophet, bore witness to the suffering of his people, a consequence of their refusal to heed divine warnings. While he could have harbored resentment and turned away,...

LOVING OTHERS LOVE RETURNED SERIES 1 Peter 4, 1 John 3   Loving God inherently involves loving others. It's not enough to claim devotion to God while harboring hatred for our fellow humans. As 1 John 4:20 asserts, if we fail to love those we can see, how can we claim to love God, whom we cannot see?   1 Peter 4 offers guidance for navigating adversity, with verse 8 as a poignant reminder: "Above all, maintain fervent love for one another because love covers a multitude of sins." This fervent love requires deep compassion, even towards those who may...

Ephesians 6:10
Be Strong Series

Ephesians 6:10 “final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”

The word of prophetic direction the Lord gave me for Praise in 2023 was “Be Strong.” We have gone through some very trying times, yet as it says in James 1:2-4 we can “count it all joy for it has produced endurance, which leads to perfection.” The more endurance one has, the stronger they are. The Lord desires His children to stand strong in the face of adversity and to continue to advance His Kingdom forward.

Ephesians 6:10-18 are the verses that bring forth the meaning of “Be Strong” in the Lord. This strength is not physical; it doesn’t come from self-effort. This is a supernatural spiritual strength by being clothed in Christ with spiritual armor. Endurance, from a world’s terminology, means what one can handle. From spiritual terminology, endurance is the grace to remain strong in Christ no matter what. We can only be strong in the Lord if we first must humble ourselves and acknowledge that we are weak apart from Him.

2 Cor. 12:9-11 “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

We must go to God to receive His strength. Psalm 16:11 says, “In the presence of the Lord is the fullness of joy, and Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”
We receive this strength by trusting in the Lord. Isaiah 40:31: “But those who trust the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

To be strong in the Lord is for the individual; the mighty power is what He does through us for others. Isaiah 11:2: “And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”
The Seven Fold Spirit includes might. The Spirit of Might manifests the Holy Spirit revealed when God wants to show Himself strength. He always wants to do this during the establishment of an ordained work so it will be apparent that He is its source and sustainer. We welcome Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Might when we need to see perpetual progress and ongoing victories. Creating and establishing something new always takes courage, and the Spirit of Might is in our lives to help us be brave.

Ephesians 6:10-18 is the end of the letter, the final charge Paul is giving the church. We are at the end of 2023, and the Lord’s command is to BE STRONG IN HIM AND THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT, for Daniel 11:32, says, "But those who know their God will be strong and do great exploits." 2024 is a year for more incredible exploits.
