Author Lennox Nelson, a screenwriter and author, served as special guest as he shared the backdrop behind his latest book – Ruby Rises. Ruby Rises is the second book in a series of Black Nancy books designed to teach Black youth about their history in a unique and compelling way. Mr. Nelson travels the country in schools and shares his books through interactive discussions. He challenges students to discover for themselves whether or not parts of his stories are fact or fiction. Mr. Nelson has created his own genre of books tune in to this episode to discover just what that genre is and how he has been making an impact with his stories.
