Pentecost and the power of the Holy Spirit Hello St. Mary Magdalene,  Did you know that Pentecost reverses what happened in Genesis with the tower of Babel? In that story, mankind tried to ascend on their own and claim what belongs to God alone and, as a result ended disastrously as our languages were now separated and we were unable to understand one another. This weekend we hear how the Holy Spirit now descends upon us and draws us all together through the diversity of languages in one common mission: to proclaim the Gospel, the Good News of Christ! May belongs to Mary!   Hello St. Mary Magdalene,    As we begin this month of May we ask for Our Lady's intercession to help us love, follow, and serve Christ more zealously. Also, we have so many things happening including 74 children from our own parish making their Confirmation and First Communion so please keep them in prayers and I want also to thank my staff, our catechists, parents and sponsors of these confirmandi for helping bring this day to fruition!    Thank you too to all who've already donated to our matching gift campaigns, if you would still like to...

April Updates

Hello St. Mary Magdalene,

I pray that the joy of this Easter season and the Resurrection of our Lord abides deep in your heart!
As a follow-up to my February 2, 2024, State of the Parish address (you can find that video here:

 • State of the Parish Address

In that video I gave a brief overview of our financial status and how we are doing as a parish. As a result of that video, I had two families approach me wanting to help our parish by pledging to match financial gifts. The first family has pledged to match gifts up to $15,000 to help our parish’s general fund. The second match is for $25,000 towards the new rectory. I am humbled by these two families’ support and by all who will make a pledge towards these matching gifts!
If you would like to the $15,000 matching gift towards the parish then please put “general match 2024” in the memo section. Donations can be made via Faith Direct or dropped off at the parish office. If using Faith Direct, make sure you use the “one-time gift” option with “general match 2024” in the memo.
If you would like to match the $25,000 rectory gift, please use “rectory match 2024” in the memo section of your donation. Donations can be made via Faith Direct or dropped off at the parish office. If using Faith Direct, make sure you use the “one-time gift” option with “rectory match 2024” in the memo.
Thank you again for your generosity and for being a part of St. Mary Magdalene.

Also, please keep in your prayers our over 70 children who'll be making their 1st Communion and Confirmation next week. Thank you to all our staff, catechists, parents, and sponsors for your hard work and what a glorious gift for the Church to celebrate with you.

Mark your calendars for our summer course on the Mass: May 11 and 18th form 9:30 to 11am in our hall. I'll be teaching the first two sessions, and our summer seminarian Mr. Dominic Bui will be teaching the last two on June 8th and 15th from 9:30 to 11am in the hall.

God bless and Happy Easter,

Fr. Chris
