The Nick Margerrison podcast
The Nick Margerrison podcast.
Former Kerrang! Radio & LBC presenter Nick Margerrison's fortnightly podcast is a continuation of his often eclectic radio career.
Building on the legacy of the critically acclaimed first series "The Cult Of Nick" this podcast looks at how topics which were explored back then are now considered to be the bare bones of what is frequently termed 'the intellectual dark web'.
A proud Discordian Nick's take is always sincere but never too serious.

Brent Lee, "ex-conspiracist" | The Cult Of Nick SERIES #23
Brent Lee has recently featured on the BBC as an "ex-conspiracist". He joins us on The Cult Of Nick to have a chat about how and why his world view flipped. -- Brent's excellent podcat can be found here: Some Dare Call It Conspiracy (Spotify link): And his "sometimes I'm a bit of a dick" Twitter account is here: -- Boom - we're back. Does anyone care? Lets find out as we crank up The C.O.N. for one last final series, maybe. -- It'll be a once a fortnight affair this time. We've got some stuff in the can which I'm going to use along with a few new bits we'll make along the way. I got sick during COVID, not of actual COVID but of the way the discussions were going. My answer to it all was the breatharian guy. Notice that didn't get a health warning!? Wow. He was telling people to stare into the sun and only eat fast food. I mean, enough said.

0032 INTERVIEW | The Breatharian Institute of America
This piece is an interview with Brendon Dey of the Breatharian Institute of America, an organisation founded upon the teachings of Wiley Brooks. A man who became notable after being featured on television in America. A moment our guest Brendon Dey will never forget... This podcast is not to be considered as health advice; it's an interview with a fascinating man who represents his belief system with refreshing honesty. This piece is a real treat for Discordians looking for a fresh and unusual reality tunnel to try for a few days, without following any of the implied advice. In many ways this podcast is intended as a satire on the notion that podcasts should be ever be censored on the grounds that people may follow the advice on them. They shouldn't. Podcast listeners are not idiots, this medium is not - and never should be - the new "radio" or "broadcast" media. It's able to do that but it can do so much more... Check out our guest's instagram account: Their website is here: The incredible music we use in the background is by the following artists, who flatter the Cult Of Nick by saying they are occasional listeners as well... Complexi-Tales: Mike Richmond: Crednes Codpiece: Our guest shares these final words: Hi Nick, I wanted to add a couple of details in case you or any of your listeners would care to know. Wiley also told me, as it related to the young women that he saw in the pornography industry, that he would have no interest in being on this planet with all of us at all, doing the things that he did, if he didn't get the joy of looking at these young women's bodies which he considered to be Perfect 🤣 ... And who can blame him? So even though he hadn't had an erection in at least 10 years, he was motivated by the energy of seeing young beautiful women, until the end of his time in the body, on Earth. I thought that I should add this so you could relate maybe on a deeper level, to his position. He made it very clear that he never masturbated, but used the energy that he felt from looking at the women, to produce the feelings of Love and Joy within his body. This is what he considered to be the ultimate highest calling of all humans: to produce Joy (hormones) in our bodies. Cheers! -- Hail Eris, All Hail Discordia!

0030 Edited INTERVIEW | Sarah Phillimore on UK police and "non crimes"
This podcast sees us take a look at "non-crimes" and the chilling effect the British police are having as they go online and record social media posts which they've been told might be offensive or maybe upsetting. We get into the subject of transgenderism and the difficulties that arise when the long arm of the law is ready to correct your posts with a metaphorical red pen and the threat of more to come. Our guest - Sarah Phillimore - is a barrister (lawyer) and specialist in family law. She has been drawn into serious legal action after being harassed by the police and their sinister covert accusations of "non-crimes". 23 minutes after this piece was edited, as I was wondering if it was ok to release, this news story emerged: "Children under the age of 16 considering gender reassignment are unlikely to be mature enough to give informed consent to be prescribed puberty-blocking drugs, the high court has ruled." History is a strange beast, perhaps "the right side of it" doesn't actually involve telling children there's something wrong with their bodies so it's time to pump them full of drugs? We will do a call in show on this topic - if you're a long term listener and want to come on follow me on Twitter and message me directly. Looking at arranging one of those over the next month or so: Music from Mike Richmond and Complexi-Tales - buy their stuff and support their awesome music!

0022 RADIO SHOW | Phone in - what's going on?
The mask debate, confused, I am, thoughts? As it wears on I've found my opinion has bounced around. There are a number of factors rubbing up against each other. Let's kick off with the most controversial: "Bill Gates: I met with Jeffrey Epstein because ‘he knows a lot of rich people’": "Bill Gates Met With Jeffrey Epstein Many Times, Despite His Past" To me the above is quite an incredible news story. It proves nothing beyond what is written above but it's weird isn't it? They're all part of a network of people who are happy to chill with a guy who sells kids because money and because power. Here's the Bloomberg Opinion piece we link to: This comes towards the end of the podcast... scary times. 0019 INTERVIEW | Direct Democracy, Libertarianism & "Britain's Vilest Troll"
This week we dive headlong into controversial comment with a man dubbed by The Daily Mail as "Britain's Vilest Troll". He uses twitter here: The video we link to is here: - it's the start of a huge rabbit hole for any new listeners we may have picked up while the podcast was away... a rabbit hole you were likely down already if you've found this podcast. There's a nice trailer for this podcast which comes up around 32 minutes in, I put out a teaser for it here on Twitter: Just writing this as I listen back, I'm really conflicted about it, I think that's a good thing. The guest is a perfect example, I don't agree with some of his sense of humor but there's real value in this conversation. I've joked online that I'm trying to entirely re-invent the medium of podcast with this little thing we're doing here... one of the things I'm super keen on is that we nail interactivity. I always dug stuff where there were nice hidden extras for people who put a bit of extra effort in. Writing a mini-essay here seems like a good example. One human to another; what do you make of what's going on right now in the world? We're going to do some callers again soon, want to be one of them? Either record something and post it somewhere, I'll rip the audio and include some of it on the podcast with a link, or contact me and we'll try set up a quick skype call or something. The cool thing about what we've got here is there's a bunch of people who have all fixed onto an algorithm of some kind. You, by virtue of the fact you're reading this, are part of that. Let's hear what we've all got to say... We're an interesting tribe. Hip to a lot of stories that are now mainstream news, fortified with a philosophy that challenges tyranny at its root with the word "maybe", interested in magic and the hidden nature of reality, open to new ideas yet keen to be able to criticise them. Speaking of which, here's the link to the video where Chris Morris discusses the reality of faked terror attacks on Channel 4 news: This is the Peterson video someone sent me, I don't think I watched it all but interesting point even so: Finally, during the podcast hiatus I've been mucking about at open mic nights. That's what's happening at the end. Me and a buddy of mine are bashing out a song we wrote, recorded it on a mobile phone. It's called "Black Cat" and it's about the oncoming apocalypse. Neither of us are "true believers" in that sort of thing but right after we performed our first paid gig: COVID 19 and the global pandemic struck! So, y'know, in magical (fictional) terms maybe we helped kick off the long promised "awakening" that New Agers go on about? If so, Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

The internet's least sinister cult returns after a break from service, in which time the world appears to have gone completely mad. This piece sees Nicholarse musing over the concept of a radio show in a time when the long predicted #CensorshipAgenda has finally come to pass. Media is, if anything, a performance art and it's in this vein that we (me and you) try to answer the question - what is going on? The results are, in hindsight, predictable.
