The Seahawks made a couple moves in the last week of free agency and freeing up some salary cap space with the release of Ed Dickson and the announcement that Tedric Thompson would be released soon. With those two moves announced on the same day, Seahawks fans were anticipating bigger news. Instead, we learn that Jadeveon Clowney's public asking price has now dropped below the $20 million mark. At the very least, hopefully it means there is some resolution on the issue soon.  With some down time ahead of the NFL Draft later this month, we take a look back at the 2019 free agency period...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seahawks are now into the second week of free agency and Jadeveon Clowney has not yet made a decision to return to the Seahawks or move on to another team. What is making this decision so difficult for Seattle's top pass rusher? In the meantime, the Seahawks made two moves that have some potential upside for the roster by sending a 5th round draft pick to Washington for a cornerback going into the final year of his contract. Quinton Dunbar received the 2nd highest coverage grade from PFF last season, but there is some important context for fans to at least be aware of before crossing off...

It's incredible how things have changed in just the short time since our last episode. As we all deal with some of the many changes that we're working through, it's fun to take some time and think about things like Seahawks football. So with NFL free agency moving on as scheduled, the Seahawks are focusing primarily on the offensive line while adding a veteran pass rusher as Bruce Irvin returns to the Seahawks. Along the defensive line Jarran Reed returns to Seattle while Quinton Jefferson finds a new home in Buffalo. As Germaine Ifedi looks to make upwards of $10 million per season, John...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

For the two months since the conclusion of the Seahawks season, every position group has now been dissected to the point that a person could be convinced that every area of the team has room to find improvement. Ahead of free agency next week, Adam and Brandan direct the focus toward what the Seahawks really need to find in free agency and away from the positions that could be considered as luxury moves. But if Seattle is going to have a championship offseason, their financial focus truly needs to be on positions of need. Teams can begin negotiating directly with players early next week, but...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

This week the rumor is that the Seattle Seahawks may be looking to trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for their top defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. This could signal a few different things with regard to Jadeveon Clowney. Perhaps they've decided to move on from Clowney (a bit too early to seem likely), or it could be that they are trying to gauge the market before making their best offer to Clowney. It may be they want him in addition to keeping Clowney or they are simply doing their due diligence in case a deal falls through before free agency opens. Rob Staton of Seahawks Draft Blog joins...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The first big news of the offseason hit on Tuesday this week as the Seahawks announced that they had agreed to terms with former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen. While Seattle was in the market for a tight end this offseason considering the problems they had with depth at the position, is paying a 35-year-old the best approach. Brandan and Adam discuss the pros and cons of the situation and why the team could have felt that this was the best move to make. In the division, we saw what average tackles are going to start making as D.J. Humphries was re-signed by the Arizona Cardinals. That...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

We start off the show by celebrating the Chiefs win over of NFC West rival and a fourth quarter collapse that allowed 21 fourth quarter points by Kansas City. As much heat as Kyle Shanahan is getting, very little criticism seems to be going toward the San Francisco defense for being anti-clutch in the final moments. We discuss the joy many Seahawks fans are experiencing with Richard Sherman unable to add a second title with his new team. Now that the 2019 season is officially behind us, what needs to change for the Seahawks in 2020. Does Pete Carroll's philosophy need to evolve, could Russell...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

In what is becoming an overused narrative, the Seahawks did not try and force the run in the divisional round loss to the Green Bay Packers. As frustrating as it was to see once again the Seahawks trying to overcome a big first half deficit, the defenses inability to quickly adjust to the Packers plan to carve the defense with throws to Davante Adams. Even when Flowers tried to stay over the top of Adams in the second half, the receiver made the defense look foolish. Seattle was able to mount a comeback in the second half, but Russell Wilson was under duress for a majority of the game. Adam...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seahawks advance into the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs after their 17-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Instead of boosting their takeaway numbers, this time around they boost their sack numbers. While the numbers may say that Russell Wilson stayed clean in the pocket, it felt a lot different while watching the game. Ultimately, it was Russell Wilson leading the way for the Seahawks, both on the ground and through the air, and his biggest target downfield was rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.  While the overall numbers weren't impressive on the ground, Marshawn Lynch...

More Episodes

For the 12 hours following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the emotions of Seahawks fans may have sunk to a season low. After the loss of Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise to injury in the matter of a few plays, Seattle fans were collectively asking the question if Marshawn Lynch was well enough to suit back up one more time in the blue and green.  As things turned out, a return had already been in the works prior to Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Will the emotion of the move be enough to help motivate the Seahawks toward victory on Sunday? There is a lot for the Seahawks to overcome as Duane Brown is likely don’t for the season and both Mike Iupati and Joey Hunt are hurt. Can an offensive line that allowed a huge day for Chandler Jones rebound against Nick Bosa and the other four first round picks on the stacked 49ers defensive line?

On the other side of the ball, can Jadeveon Clowney return and have a similar performance to his game against the 49ers in Week 10? If Seattle is going to get to the quarterback, they're going to have to do so with their front four, because now George Kittle is back and is having a monster season. We take a look at both playoff scenarios with a win or loss in Week 17.
