1 Peter 1:3-12 Pastor William Con  BGI: Rejoice in your living hope allowing trials to test and refine you.  As Peter starts off his letter to his audience as elect exiles, we read over their shoulders, hearing about our living hope as God's chosen children and how, as children, we have an imperishable, undefiled and unfading inheritance. Compared to the trials we go through, which are light and momentary (compared to the eternity of our inheritance of heaven) we are to rejoice even in these things as they test and refine our faith, making it pure and proving in genuine!

Mark 8:1-26 - Pastor William  BGI: Christ is patient enough and compassionate enough to give us a second look.  This week, we're seeing double! In these 26 verses, we see four similar events that Jesus leads his disciples through and in these lessons the disciples miss the point again and again and again. Yet in this mess, Jesus is compassionate and patient enough giving these disciples a second look and it all ends with the healing of a blind man where Jesus lays hands on him twice, giving us, his disciples, an important lesson in who Jesus is.

Mark 7:24-37 - Pastor William Con  BGI: Jesus speaks to us, heals us and ultimately saves us!  This week, Jesus heals two non Jewish people, breaking the idea that the savior was only for Israel and he meets people where they are at (one, a mother and the second a deaf and mute man). Instead of healing each person the same, he uses their unique circumstances to speak to them as they need. Let us come to Jesus as they do in desperation and humility so he can speak to us, heal us and ultimately save us as we take him as our Lord and Savior!

Jesus Declares Us Broken show art Jesus Declares Us Broken

Mark 7:1-23 April 26 2020 Pastor William Con  Big Gospel Idea: Jesus declares us broken and God has fixed us.  The Pharisees are back at it challenging Jesus because his disciples refuse to heed to the 'commandments' of the elders eating with 'defiled' hands. Jesus lays down the law for the Pharisees showing them their hypocrisy adding on additional laws to keep themselves clean. Jesus is going to come to us and tell us that we are broken from the inside, not from forces outside us but own our hearts are in need of help!  This is why Jesus came to die for us. To fix what we...

We see 1 of the 3 times Mark records Jesus going off to prayer by himself and it tells us something very important is going to take place soon!  Take Aways: Jesus sends his disciples into a storm to reveal a greater picture of himself to him.  Jesus replicates Gods act to Moses in Exodus as God passed by Moses when he wanted to know him more.  Jesus has brought us through many storms and guides...

Jonah Series Part 1/3 - Pastor William  BGI: Jesus is the better Jonah because he didn't run from his Nineveh (us) but gave his life for it so we might be saved.  In this three part series, looking through the small book of Jonah, Pastor Will looks at why Jesus says to the religious leaders at the time, why the only sign they will receive is the sign of Jonah and why He is greater than Jonah. Jesus is greater than Jonah because: He did not run from God's call as Jonah did but went willingly to his enemies to warn them of their coming disaster  Jonah did not perish from going to...

Stewarding in Light of Eternity - Pastor William Con  Chasing Carrots Series  Big Gospel Idea: People hoard in times of scarcity. People give and sacrifice in light of the abundance that Jesus provides.  Pastor Will concludes our Chasing Carrots Series talking about why we should look at our current circumstances in light of eternity. Because when we get tunnel focused on the here and now, we are susceptible to believing the lies of a scarcity mindset that leads us to selfishly looking after our own needs. However, when we view our situation in light of eternity, we acknowledge...
