Student of the Gun Radio
The terrorist attack at the concert hall in Moscow was horrible, but we have to examine it and learn from it. What can American citizens do and how can they prepare to deal with the threats that we are facing? During our SOTG Homeroom, from SOTGU, we will address a deadly shark attack. What could have been done differently? Could the victim have been saved? Whose responsibility is it to be prepared to save a life? Do you need an LPVO on your home defense rifle? During our Tech Talk from EOTech Inc. we will consider that question in depth. Thanks for being a part of SOTG! We hope...

Do you have your medical gear on you at all times? If not, why not? We bring you a story today that might hopefully make you reconsider your stance on having medical gear readily available all the time. Because as Prof. Paul & Jarrad were on their way down to Texas, they were directly behind a rear-ending on the highway, and instantly THEY became the first responders. Speaking of Texas, SOTGU came to Texas and held the Martial Application of the Pistol class this past weekend! It was a fantastic event, and we’ve got an after action report for you to enjoy. And hey, if this conversation...

So to bide the time, we’re giving you the full, uncut interview that we did with Ken Hackathorn, addressing his internet breaking opinion about weapon lights. info_outline Wargaming the American Apocalypse: What Can You Do? | SOTG 1230Student of the Gun Radio
No intellectually honest person can argue that we have allowed the United States of America to be put into a terrible, dangerous position. Hard times are coming. The question we address is what can each person do about that? We will talk about controlling those things that we can control. During our Tech Talk from EOTech, Professor Paul will consider flashlights and weaponlights. What is the difference between Lumen and Candlepower? Does it make a difference? Also, we have an SOTG Homeroom sponsored by Student of the Gun University. Paul and Jarrad will consider some controversy...
info_outline When Acorns Attack: Florida Deputy Shoots his Boot | SOTG 1229Student of the Gun Radio
A Florida deputy sheriff unloaded his pistol at his own patrol car after being startled by an acorn that dropped on the car roof. It gets better. The supervisory sergeant joined the deputy in shooting his cruiser. Oh, did we tell you there was a handcuffed suspect in the car? Certainly there are some lessons to be learned here. Another Ohio Sheriff has come forward to address the information and intelligence that was shared with senior law enforcement officials. What is the realistic threat facing the people of the United States? What can be done by every adult in America to prepare for...
info_outline God, Guns & Guts: Protecting Houses of Worship | SOTG 1228Student of the Gun Radio
You might not have heard of the recent attack at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The national media is not excited and Democrats are not pushing gun control because good people with guns prevented a massacre by a bad woman who had a gun. We are going to focus on the lessons we can learn about how to protect houses of worship. During our Tech Talk from EOTech Inc. we will consider the “dot in the circle” reticle on the HWS optics and how you can use this purposeful design to your advantage. The criminals were released without bail and then they laughed and flipped off the news cameras. SHOT Show 2024 has arrived and we’re already cracking skulls and taking names. Well not really, but it’s been a good time and seeing all kinds of cool stuff. Like from our friends at Hi-Point, showing off the ever-popular YEET Canon. The biggest event so far has been the Kahr Arms Book Signing! Where we parked our butts down at Booth #13627, signed some books, and chatted with y’all! We went to the Beretta Range Day, and got to play with some of their latest and greatest innovations in firearms. And while we were there, Jarrad may have found his new calling… Listen Louder, hippies!...
info_outlineWhat have we been saying for years? The Police cannot protect you, have to protect yourself. The Mises Institute wrote an article about how the Minneapolis riots are a stark reminder that “Police Don't Protect You or Your Property”. Thank you.
An announcer for the NBA was punished recently for saying “All Lives Matter”. It seems that showing support for the preservation of human life isn’t enough, it has to be a certain kind, and you will be punished if your opinions aren’t in line.
During our Warrior of the Week segment, we discuss what it is that you can do to prepare yourself and your community for rioters, and what you can do if the violence comes to your street.

From blog.full30.com:
Militias, Training Bands, Home Guard, Security Force, Patriot Fire Team; some of these terms may be more familiar than others. However, from a practical standpoint, they all have the same basic function, to protect the people from threats to their lives and livelihoods.
Everyone in the United States should be familiar with the term “Militia”. We revere the use of militia in our history classes and then fear or run from the term in modern use. The modern media has made the use of “militia” a pejorative during the last twenty-five years or so.
From mises.org/wire:
Looting and arson have followed what began as peaceful protests in response to the apparent killing of George Floyd by Derek Chauvin, a now former member of the Minneapolis Police Department.
But whatever was the spark that set off the current round of rioting in the Twin Cities area, it is clear that most property owners and residents will have to fend for themselves where riots have taken place.
In other words, any unfortunate shopkeeper or resident who finds himself in the path of the rioters ought to just assume that police won't be around to provide any protection from the mob.
