Obey and Do Good 1 Peter 2:13-25 show art Obey and Do Good 1 Peter 2:13-25

Parkland Community Church (Yorkton) Sermons

1 Peter 2:13-25 Pastor William Con  BGI: As God's Servants, obey and do good as Christ did for you!  Christ, out of His love for us, suffered unjustly on our behalf, taking the punishment we so rightly deserved so we wouldn't be punished for our wrong doings. This made us right with God, it it was also left for us as an example. We may find ourselves under an authoritative, or possibly even evil, government, as Peter finds himself under the rule of Ceasar Nero who (or soon would be) persecuting the Christians in Rome. Now that we have this grace, this unearned favor through the work of Jesus on the cross, how are we going to respond? How do you respond to a holy God? Peter says, by being holy. We are to prepare our minds, to be sober minded by setting out hope fully on the grace that will be ours!

Parkland Community Church (Yorkton) Sermons

1 Peter 1:3-12 Pastor William Con  BGI: Rejoice in your living hope allowing trials to test and refine you.  As Peter starts off his letter to his audience as elect exiles, we read over their shoulders, hearing about our living hope as God's chosen children and how, as children, we have an imperishable, undefiled and unfading inheritance. Compared to the trials we go through, which are light and momentary (compared to the eternity of our inheritance of heaven) we are to rejoice even in these things as they test and refine our faith, making it pure and proving in genuine!
