How to Build Connections

and Increase Your Sales

“The way we [companies] are teaching [represenatives] how to build a network marketing business, is absolutely backward.”

Brooke Elder

Today, we’re talking about how you can create connections to increase sales. This concept is something that a lot of people are interested in more about. There’s a big difference between connecting with you and connecting with your network marketing company.

In this episode, we’ll discuss the differences between the ways your company may be teaching you to build connections, and how you should actually be doing it.

Lots of network marketing companies want buyers to fall in love with the company. So, they pitch company agendas. Some of these agendas include highlighting the fact they are debt-free or how they give back to the community. They want buyers to feel connected to the company, so they continue to buy their products. Then, when buyers purchase products from you, they make a connection to the company and you. However, for most social marketers, this way of building connections is backward.

It makes sense that companies want to create connections with buyers, yet if you're going to be successful, you need to develop personal relationships with buyers first, so they don't just go to someone else.

“If you build a connection first, then lead them to a product and company, you will be so much more successful because they will be connected to you.” - Brooke Elder

At Social Tenacity, we teach you how to build your business around you, not your company. You have unique strengths, gifts, and talents that will allow you to connect with other people on a deeper level. Not only that, but you also have experiences that will enable you to relate with other people too.

How many times do you have a great client or customer who buys a ton a product from you? It leaves you thinking that they will continue to be loyal customers, yet when they purchase the product again, they use someone else. The lack of consistent interaction results because they haven’t made a personal connection with you.

When you build connections and relationships first, this creates a know, like, and trust factor that keeps customers or clients coming back. Once they are connected to you, then they will build a connection to a product and company.

When you really care about your customers, you share your stories, and it continues to build further connections. Then, when you market your products or opportunity, customers are more inclined to try it, which increases sales.

“We build connections with our audience, which creates that know, like, and trust factor.”  - Brooke Elder

If you want to increase sales, then create more opportunities to connect with others. Stories are a great way to build associations with people because they are often more relatable. When people can relate to you, this often makes the most significant difference.

When you share stories on Facebook or through Instagram stories, it helps connect you to your audience and encourages them to continue using your services.  This results in increased sales because they will continue to buy into your products or opportunity.

Today, start thinking about how you can connect with your audience more. Make a list of stories that illustrate how your product helped you. Then, think about how those stories could potentially help others.
