Deirdre Tshien is from Sydney, Australia, and started her career in the banking industry. After several years she realized that climbing the corporate ladder was not for her.

 

To be the kind of person that climbs the corporate ladder she would have had to buy into office politics and change her values. She just couldn’t do it, so she and her boyfriend, who is now her husband, decided to create and open a dessert bar that was a place where people wanted to go on dates and hang out with friends.

When you open the doors or you launch, you almost just expect this flood of people to like what you’ve done because you know how good it is. But that doesn’t happen. There are loans, wages, and suppliers to pay and it is really, really stressful. 

 

Regardless of whether you have a brick and mortar store, whether you have an online business, you need to have the right strategies to acquire and retain the customers that you are looking for.

 

Make the decision to invest in yourself to get coaches, mentors, and people who can help you know the market, get clients, and help make the right decisions around running the operations of your business.

 

With the COVID situation in the world today the evolution of the different digital platforms is the perfect storm right now for people and business owners to really maximize the opportunities that Facebook groups bring.

 

People want to hear and connect with stories. If you are going to build a tribe, be a leader, and ultimately get sales, then it’s about the stories that you want to be bringing to your audience.  It’s not only your stories, but encourage or enable your own customers to have their own stories because that’s what makes you and your product contagious.
