FORD MUSTANG MACH-E PLATFORM WILL BE USED FOR ANOTHER ELECTRIC VEHICLE

""An additional electrified vehicle" that "will share a similar electrified platform as the Mustang Mach-E" is planned for the plant in Cuautitlan, Mexico. We're not sure what that electric vehicle may be, where it will be sold, or even what form factor it will take. One benefit to modern architecture designed to support electrified vehicles is that it's basically a flat platform that can support nearly any type of body on top." says Autoblog: "Ford says interest in the electric F-150, which is scheduled to go on sale in 2022, has been strong enough that it will increase production capacity by 50% from its original plans. That means another 200 permanent jobs on top of 300 jobs previously promised for the electric F-150 line. Ford will invest $100 million and hire 150 workers to build electric versions of its Transit commercial van, scheduled to go on sale in late 2021. The electrified Transit van could prove attractive for companies that specialize in delivery services in heavily populated areas."

CNET says: "Ford will release details about its upcoming all-electric E-Transit commercial van later in the week, but before sharing any specifics, it announced on Tuesday where this heavy hauler is going to be built. The E-Transit will roll down the line in the automaker's assembly plant in Kansas City, Missouri, alongside the ever-popular F-150 pickup truck."£

ELECTRIFY AMERICA REACHES 500 STATIONS

Electrify America announced it has opened more than 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the U.S., surpassing a significant milestone in the company’s expansion. With more than 2,200 individual DC fast chargers nationwide, Electrify America is delivering on its commitment to make EV ownership more convenient than ever.

Giovanni Palazzo, president and chief executive officer of Electrify America: "Electrify America is raising the bar when it comes to the high speed charging experience needed to expedite the transition to an electric future. In just over two years, we’ve made great progress in expanding our network while maintaining a deliberate focus on delivering the fastest charging speeds possible – 150kW and 350kW. We are confident that reduced charging times and increased charger availability will help Electrify America, and the industry as a whole, deliver the future-proof charging experience that customers deserve.”

"Along with the announcement of the milestone today, Electrify America has also announced that it will install solar-powered canopies to select locations. It will protect cars from the elements while delivering solar power. Furthermore, we previously reported that the charging network is installing Tesla Powerpacks at some of its charging stations. In September, we reported that Tesla Powerpacks batteries were already deployed at ~60 Electrify America charging stations and now the company expects the number to reach more than 125 stations by the end of next year." says electrek

BMW INEXT ALL-ELECTRIC SUV SPIED BEFORE ITS WEDNESDAY DEBUT

"The BMW iNext all-electric SUV will be the company’s technological flagship when it arrives. Not only will it be the company’s top-tier EV, but it’ll also pack Level 3 semi-autonomous driving capabilities. We’ll get our first glimpse of the new model this Wednesday during the digital-only event, though BMW will only preview its design. How much we’ll see is unknown, though a new batch of spy photos isn’t hiding many secrets." says Motor1: "While we may see the iNext this week, production won’t begin until sometime next year. We don’t know when, though it could be a bit considering we're only seeing a design preview of the SUV on Wednesday."

TESLA TSLA GIGA SHANGHAI PRODUCED ABOUT 20,000 VEHICLES IN OCTOBER

"In October, Tesla sold 12,143 vehicles in China, up 7.18% from last month, when the company sold 11,329 units domestically. In addition, the factory produced another 7,000 Model 3s that were shipped to Europe, demonstrating a significant increase in production capacity. It is estimated that Giga Shanghai now produces between 700 and 800 vehicles per day, which equates to a production capacity of 250K+ units per year." according to TEsmanian: "And now it seems that Tesla’s Chinese factory has begun production and export of the refreshed 2021 Model 3 to countries with left-hand traffic. @ray4tesla/Twitter reports that six made-in-China Model 3s have been spotted in Hong Kong. All cars had a steering wheel on the right side."

TESLA EXPANDS WARRANTY TO COVER DEFECTIVE MAIN COMPUTERS

"Tesla on Monday notified owners of older Model S and Model X electric vehicles that the company will refund them for repairs if they previously had to pay out-of-pocket to fix a problem in their main computers. The problem manifested as a blank touchscreen or other glitches in the system and was related to memory device failures in the computer that stores data from the vehicle." writes CNBC: "Tesla said it will repair the Model S and Model X cars for owners who are currently experiencing those issues, under an expanded warranty with some conditions. The warranty expansion and offer to refund some owners may help Tesla avoid a mandatory recall, and a settlement or drawn out court battles. The memory devices in some Tesla MCUs have a limited “write cycle,” which means they won’t work well, or at all, after they hit a certain number of program or erase cycles."

LOTUS JUMPS STRAIGHT TO ALL-ELECTRIC FOR PURE LUXURY

"The Geely brand Lotus will rely on a purely electric drive instead of the originally announced hybrid drive for its first electrified SUV. The luxury car has been developed under the internal code name Lambda for market launch in 2022." says electrive: "The reason for the change to the pure e-drive system is the company’s affiliation with the Geely Group. Premium electric SUVs are in great demand in China, and the SEA platform announced in September provides a suitable electric basis for such a vehicle. With the SEA, Geely intends to build electric cars from the A to E segment and even light commercial vehicles for various brands. Lynk & Co will probably bring a big electric crossover with the 08, Volvo plans to build a small electric SUV below the XC40 with the XC20. At Polestar, the production version of the concept car Precept could be based on the SEA – Geely is planning a new China plant for Polestar."
