The way piano is usually taught involves practicing endless scales and etudes, memorizing complicated notation, and focusing on classical music—not to mention the challenge of finding a teacher near you. It's no wonder most folks who take traditional piano lessons either lose interest or become a good sight reader rather than a good player. It's a shame because there's actually an alternative chord-based method that makes piano one of the easiest and most freeing instruments to learn to play!

With this method, new and more experienced players alike use lead sheets (simplified sheet music with letters) to learn the chords and melody of familiar tunes by actually playing them.
