Hey Mama! Podcast

We open the show talking about a socially distanced kiddo movie night that Caitlin hosted and how restorative and hope-inspiring it was. Laura has an uncomfortable COVID-era playground interaction and we continue talking about the things we don’t know when it comes to properly social distancing, going to school and so on. Caitlin makes big decisions about shorts and we talk more about giving ourselves permission to be more comfortable instead of trying to stuff our bodies into things that don’t work.

Hey Mama! Podcast

Continuing with cafeteria quarantine, Caitlin and Laura review where they are at. Caitlin doesn’t have the kids, courtesy of a toy going in the toilet. Laura gives an update about how she’s dealing with her personal COVID-induced crisis. Oh and programming note: The Canadian/US border is now officially closed until July 21, 2020. They announced this extension later in the day we recorded this episode, oddly enough. And in purely Canadian fashion, Air Canada refunded Laura and Tim’s plane tickets without even being asked. #212 - Black Lives Matter show art #212 - Black Lives Matter

Hey Mama! Podcast

Because of our recording cadence, this is the first time we mention the murder of George Floyd and the international uprising against white supremacy and police brutality. So let us state for the record: we must abolish white supremacy. Remember that we all carry around racial prejudices from our socialization as kids, we act on those prejudices when we discriminate against people because of their race, and Racism is a system, one that the United States was founded on. It is no longer enough to simply be a nice person and like Black people. We must actively work to be anti-racist. Give us 5...

More Episodes

Charlie isn’t feeling great this week and Laura also was under the weather, which made her birthday less fun than years past.  We talk about the challenges of babies at restaurants and the drain of sick babies. Caitlin isn’t feeling like she is as productive as she used to be and wonders if it’ s either the distraction of the baby in the house or the exhaustion that comes from parenting in general.  Laura gives out organization/to-do strategy tips (#nerdtalk!) as we continue our talk about baby brain and how its impacted our performance at our jobs.   Our #tittytip revolves around a baby who bites your boob.
