On this episode Susan Barret helps me introduce a 2016 episode about my first visit to The International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine. The museum is a lot of fun...if you go in the right frame of mind. In fact, I returned for a second visit less than a year ago with my family and you'll hear Susan and I discuss that trip as well. Perhaps the most important update: the museum now has not one but two fully functional restrooms! spookyas.com pattern.com/witchfinder Music by Occultic Overtones

Spooky Times with Eric D

Tonight host Eric D is joined by three guests: Emily Ferguson, Brian Toney and Tom Cole to watch and discuss the landmark 1992 BBC Halloween special: Ghostwatch! Ghostwatch was a show about a "live" investigation of a haunting, but it was presented as real. Reality TV is nothing new these days, but in 1992, it was not widely known. This caused some viewers to think what they were seeing was real and this caused something of a panic through the nation....or did it? It seems a lot of urban legend has grown up around this special and it's aftermath. We couldln't wait to watch it for he first...

I LOVE 80's horror and basically I did this episode as an excuse to bring up some 80's movies that I might not have discussed otherwise. But these are far from the worst or most cheesy 80's horror movies. One or two of them are actually all-time greats! See if you can pick them out. Eric Dwinnells and guest co-host Tom Cole are back and this time they are focusing all their energies on revealing the life and crimes of the world's worst yet possibly most famous psychic, the late Sylvia Brown!

Sylvia Browne is probably most famous for her numerous appearances on the Montel Williams talk show. She would go on and spew nonsense about angels and spirit guides and then give overwhelmingly false predictions about the future to grieving relatives of missing persons or the recently deceased. The biggest mystery is how she remained a star in the paranormal field while being so amazingly inaccurate! The woman charged over $700 for a 20 minute phone call and reportedly earned 3 million a year...

We'll look into her early life, the religion she invented, why the FBI was keeping an eye on her, the frauds she committed, and of course, her false predictions and why they were so harmful. And, master impressionist that he is, Eric will premiere his Sylvia Browne impersonation for the first time!

Also discussed: Naming our fans, cheese-based snack foods, and Eric's attractive friends
