This week on The Grind Joey and Jason welcome Dan Meadors to the show. Dan and his business partner Eric Lambert started selling on Amazon in 2011 using a credit card with a $600 limit. Since then they have utilized Retail Arbitrage, Online Arbitrage, Private Label & primarily Wholesale to generate over $10,000,000 in sales, with their business continuing to see exponential growth. Dan and Eric also developed ‘The Wholesale Formula’, the premiere training program for selling products wholesale on Amazon.
Before the interview the guys have a little catch up, Jason finds out that Joey doesn’t like The Princess Bride and they talk about the fun you can have with made up words like ‘snowpocalypse’.
Dan begins the interview by regaling the guys with the story of how he first started his amazon selling business and what it is like starting an operation with very little capital. He then goes into how the infrastructure of Amazon can help new entrepreneurs operate at a higher scale than they otherwise would have. Jason and Joey pick Dan’s brain about the finer points of his early operations and how he has grown along with amazon itself. Dan tells a few great stories in the interview one of which saw him buy two entire Sears stores at 2% retail, with all of his personal capital. The guys also discuss the transition from being a foot soldier to a general within your own business and what eventually lead Dan to the wholesale model.
The main message that Dan promotes is being proactive about your business. This goes hand in hand with Joey and Jason’s ethos (hence the title of the show) and the guys discuss at length the importance of making the initial movements towards your goals and maintaining momentum afterwards. So, take note ladies and gentlemen, there was a lot of good stuff in this one. Grind on.
If you have enjoyed (or not enjoyed) this episode, Jason and Joey would be grateful if you would consider leaving a review on iTunes.
