For this Tuesday Tunes I wanted to share a song by the English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth called "Sweetest Maleficia" from their eighth studio album Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder. The album is based upon the French serial killer Gilles de Rais who fought for the French army under Joan of Arc during the Hundred Years' War. He was very close with her, but when she was burned at the stake by the church, De Rais went insane and began murdering children. It's a very disturbing album and one of the main reasons is because of the solid voice work by Doug Bradley who worked with the band on numerous albums over the years. He really taps into the insanity of De Rais depraved personality. The opening monologue of "Sweetest Maleficia" really gets under my skin because of the matter of fact approach Bradley uses. I think it would be interesting to see Bradley portray De Rais in an acting role. It's also a really good song to if you're into metal music.

I've also attached a video that has all of Doug's voice work that he did for them over the years. Great stuff!

Finally, for newcomers to the band, follow the link to their official site to learn more about them:
