The BadChristian Podcast

Members of the BC Club decided to hold a zoom call on Sunday night to talk about the weekend's events and how the club has responded. We were pretty inspired by their open conversation about race, and decided it was well worth sharing (with their permission.) Thank you to those of you who participated in the discussion, and to clubber Adam Rostad for additional editing.   Links & Sponsors: Pre-Order Emery's new album "White Line Fever" at  Stamps.com: promo code BADCHRISTIAN Join Emeryland:  Are You Listening: A Streamo Show:

Our talk with economist Robin Hanson, not very long ago at all, shaped the way we thought about the coronavirus before it was even a pandemic. Now we have a lot of updating to do, so we invited Robin back on to help us sort out the state of how things have actually played out thus far, and what could come.   Robin Hanson: Twitter: Elephant in the Brain: The Age of Em:   Links & Sponsors: Pre-Order Emery's new album "White Line Fever" at  HIMS: Stamps.com: code BADCHRISTIAN Join Emeryland:  Are You Listening: A Streamo Show:

The BadChristian Podcast

Dan Koch is in the middle of a PHD program, dedicating his life to studying and doing therapy in the Christian/post-Christian online space. The small, off-beat, corner of the internet, and a certain generation, is emerging to be a field of study with its own experts, and is a growing and perhaps pivotal group for the unfolding future. How all of this unfolds is very critical.  As people leave the religion and church practices of the past, we see more and more that the religious tendencies built within us are not so easy to mute. Moving forward, we see new norms and tribes rapidly emerging...

The BadChristian Podcast

Data science and visualization is currently the most sought after and highest paying field there is.  Our society is increasingly dependent on numbers and data, which has made two particular areas increasingly complex. There is the data that we all generate ourselves that now needs to be considered, its uses, value, and privacy, and secondly, in our information age, it is becoming ever more important to be data literate and know how to consume it and what to trust.   BADCHRISTIAN CONFERENCE EARLY BIRD TICKETS:    Links & Sponsors: Watch on YouTube: Join Emeryland:...

David Morrell is the author of the book "First Blood," which became one of our favorite movies ever, Rambo. He tells us in what ways they changed the dynamics the book brought out in generational relationships and the effects of war before PTSD was a talked-about phenomenon. He's been out there doing things his own way for so many more years than us, and encouraged us way more than just talking about some books he wrote.
