info_outlineSong of Songs 2:2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
The Lily of the Valleys has been down in the good soil of the valley of humiliation and sank its roots deep into the living water, even you reading this who love His Word.
Thorns on the other hand are all about conserving the little water they think they have access to. The four purposes of thorns.
- Stop air flow from robbing moisture - hoarding
- Collect dew to drip on the roots - self sufficient
- Provide shade - keeping themselves cool - (I've tried not effective)
- Protection from others - isolation
Those who are thriving on living water know there is an endless supply. Rejoice is the response and so the root of the Hebrew word Lily.
