● Honest ● Intimate ● Reassuring || Barbie found out about my show through Shannon Britt, my guest from episodes 31-33 and reached out to me. In addition to being an articulate, sincere and disarming human being, Barbie happens to be a therapist specializing in treating individuals who’s experienced sexual trauma. She told me what she’s learnt from her practice and from treating teenagers. And we had a few things to say about the #MeToo movement, intimacy, first date sex and more.

● Sincere ● Easy ● Relatable || Ron, a parent at my children’s school, seemed easy-going and laidback. Whenever I sent out an email to parents about class parties or teacher gifts, he took the time to reply via phone call. He greeted everyone with an unassuming smile and always had something funny to say. He was humble. We met before the holidays and talked. Because I think nice people like that are the ones that deserve our attention. (P.S. Kansas, I do love you and can’t wait to visit you one da

(🤬 Contains coarse language) ● Witty ● Bold ● Honest || In a true 3 degrees of separation Nashville-style, someone I know knew someone who was on Kim’s podcast. The first thing I noticed from listening to Kim was that she has the perfect voice for radio. And she seemed like a no-BS, this-is-who-I-am-take-it-or-leave-it kind of a woman. People like that sort of intimidate me. So I knew I just had to have her on my show.

Brent is a surgeon and was one of the first guests and the first complete stranger to record for the show. My earlier guest Alex Strnad had gotten Brent and me in contact via email but when Brent first walked into my living room we had never met or spoken before.
It’s this, my conversation with Brent that convince me that just one engaging and honest conversation can connect people, even strangers.
We begin our conversation by clarifying how Brent knew Alex and Brent showing me a photo of his son.
Enjoy.
