Branding Mini-Series #3 I see way too many virtual assistants who don’t stand out. They're not showing their personality. They have muddied messages. It's hard to even know what they do and who they serve. I decided to bring back an old friend, a dynamic “hooker with a heart of gold,” Marisa Corcoran to talk more about brand messaging for service providers. (We’ll explain the hooker thing in the episode.) Marisa is the CEO and Founder of the Copy Confidence Society. In addition to writing the words that get landing pages converting at 60% or higher and crafting...

Branding Mini-Series #1 If we know our brand voice and personality, if we can feel good about how we're showing up and how we speak about ourselves, then the rest will fall into place and won't feel so salesy, slimy, and gross. I get this question all the time: “If I’m already freelancing, how can I transition to working full-time as a service provider so I can stop working for the man in my 9 to 5 job?”
In this bonus episode, I wanted to talk about this because so many people are in a 9 to 5 and they add freelancing as a side hustle (like I did 13 years ago). And then they start to see the writing on the wall. This could be a legit business where you’re self-employed and offering digital services– anything from email marketing, social media, affiliate and launch management to podcast editing, all of that as a real business.
It's a big jump from doing this work in the cracks of time, evenings, and weekends to an independent contractor business that’s replacing your full-time income. But how do you actually make the switch?
I’m answering this burning question and sharing more about
- 4 things you need to do so you can go full-on into freelancing
- How to make sure you’re financially prepared
- Networking and building client relationships
- Practical ways to avoid burnout while still juggling a full-time job
- How you can learn to become a freelance service provider
If you’re balancing a traditional job with a freelance side gig and want more flexibility, you CAN make this transition a reality.
