Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

Elaine's intolerance for a chatty driver pushes her to pretend she's going deaf, but it backfires. JLD does a lot with what she's given in this very funny episode. This is the first episode written by Carol Leifer, one of the few female writers for Seinfeld and it's a classic.

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

Elaine doesn't care for an uncut dong which is a very funny plotline, but instead this episode focuses way too much on a pigman. JLD deserved more in The Bris, but at least we learn she had a fancy upbringing on the East Coast! Enjoy!

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

Elaine cannot stop playing editor, even in her relationship with writer Jake Jarmel. Her criticism about his lack of exclamation point usage causes them to break up. JLD gets solid comedy in this really fun episode!

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

We get to meet (possibly) rabid Elaine!! She's hilarious, don't worry. This episode is perfectly balanced between the main 4 in terms of quality of plot and allotment of comedy! JLD really gets to flex her comedy chops and that is when Seinfeld is at it's best in my totally biased opinion.

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

A classic Seinfeld episode, but unfortunately very Elaine-light. Our Lainey gets screwed over again by the guys when she trusts Jerry to promote a charity event on The Today Show, only he makes a mockery of it by wearing a hideous shirt designed by Kramer's low-talking girlfriend. Fun performances and plots, but not enough Elaine!

Jerry never satisfied Elaine while they were dating and after she reveals the big production she had to perform every time they had sex, he goes into a tailspin. In the end, a mango saves the day.

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

That's a wrap for season 4! Elaine's charm causes Russell to leave NBC, join Greenpeace and die which also leads to the new NBC president to pass on Jerry and George's show. This season finale is packed with comedy, but JLD doesn't get enough even though I feel there were some missed opportunities for some funny scenarios.

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

In the first part of this hour-long season finale, Elaine deals with creepy Russell Dalrymple, who cannot accept the fact that she's not interested in him. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Bob Balaban in a scene together is a gift. Elaine also decides to take action against Monk's new management since it seems they are only hiring waitresses with big jugs. I'm glad Elaine has her own plots within this jam-packed finale, I just wish she got more comedic moments.

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

Elaine tries to be the voice of reason about parking in a handicap spot at the mall, but gets overruled. Not a ton of comedy for JLD to play with in this episode, but it's a fun one!

Hot & Heavy: The Elaine Benes Podcast

Elaine gets clam-jammed by clingy BO from Jerry's car. JLD perfectly portrays all shades of Elaine here, from flirty to horny - horrified to desperate. We also the return of Susan Ross as a lesbian which causes George to spiral.
