Have you ever looked up at the stars on a dark night, and noticed that some stars seem to flow together to form a picture.  These are known as Constellations. Constellations are like a dot to dot puzzle and ancient people connected these dots to form pictures of their gods. They also created some wonderful stories to go along with these celestial pictures. Tales about gods and monsters, and villains and heroes.

As scientists and astronomers have learned more about the universe, we look at the stars in a much different way. Even so, the legends and myths associated with these tiny points of are still quite fascinating.

There are 88 official constellations.  Today, we will talk about the 12 that make up the Zodiac.

The Zodiac is a belt of the heavens that includes all apparent positions of the sun, moon, and the most familiar planets. It is divided into twelve equal divisions or signs and that’s where we get the term Zodiac Sign.
