Kirsten, an IT Specialist, wife and mother, has had migraine disease for 28 years. She endures a variety of migraine types. She talks about her personal experiences with the disease including her successes with telemedicine and natural medicine, how genetic testing has helped with treatment choices, as well as her favorite coping tool. She and her husband Dearric tell us what they do to fight migraine stigma and raise awareness. Dearric talks frankly about caregiver fatigue and gives his advice on coping strategies. You will also hear about Dearric’s latest, and craziest, awareness adventure - a 3-day, 216 mile run. Dearric participated in the August 2018 Cascade Lakes Relay as a solo team to raise awareness for this debilitating disease and to raise money for research.  And you won’t want to miss the moving story about the couple’s young son and how he showed support for his mother during an attack.
