029 Bubbles show art 029 Bubbles

The Squick or Squee Podcast

In keeping with a skinny interview schedule for the holidays we do another story episode this week.  I read one of my own, "Bubbles," which I adapted from a comic I wrote some years back, a story inspired by the mad scientist movies of the 1950s.  When pretty Becky Brindle volunteers for a science experiment with a new kind of soap, things go tragically wrong, albeit not without a happy ending of a sort.

027 Nobilis Reed show art 027 Nobilis Reed

The Squick or Squee Podcast

This week we talk with Nobilis Reed, busy podcaster and one of the most productive sci-fi erotica authors now working, largely about tentacle sex and his two new sci-fi tentacle sex novels The Monster Whisperer and The Monster Whisperer:  Second Class, but also about writing in general.  Nobilis shares wry insight into his own writing and has useful advice for those interested in becoming writers themselves.  It was an honor to have him on the show and a great listen, so tune in!

Episode 25: Edgar Allan Poe's Episode 25: Edgar Allan Poe's "Ligeia." (Bonus)

The Squick or Squee Podcast

"The death of a beautiful woman is unquestionably the most poetical topic in the world," as Poe wrote.  He might have added that it is also one of those most charged with profound erotic energy.  Since there is no interview scheduled for this week, Faustus reads Poe's story "Ligeia" (1838) and, in a very short terminal essay, argues for its inclusion in the canon of dark erotic art.

024 Leem show art 024 Leem

The Squick or Squee Podcast

This week we talk with Leem, one of the elders of the A.S.F.R. community.  Leem has been writing and publishing his own prose stories about petrification and immobilization on the Internet since mid-2000, while also generously serving as the host for a large number of Internet stories that might otherwise have been lost.  Leem shares sage observations about writing and publishing.  Also, Faustus spouts off about the Internet a lot.

More Episodes

Ladies and Gentlemen and others, merry perverts all, this Iago Faustus, your host for the Squick or Squee Podcast. I regret to have to announce that due to a technology failure the episode that was supposed to drop this week has been lost, and some scheduling complications do not make it practical to air a different episode in its place. Consequently I will not drop an episode this week. The guest on the lost episode has graciously consented to a re-recording session and I believe that episode will be dropping again next week on October 21st.

I am also working on some additional material in the form of an original Iago Faustus novella that I can narrate to you for free bonus content at some point in the future, a little way of making it all up to you.

In the meantime I encourage you to take this week to catch up on any of the more than twenty complete episodes that you might not have heard yet, all available on this podcast's site, squeecast.com. And in the meantime, whether or not you avail yourself of my back catalog this week, I encourage you to still enjoy your beverage of choice and some tasty snacks.

Stay weird, everybody, and I'll be back soon.
