238 – Your Spiritual Connection

God bless you all in the mighty and Powerful name of Our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless you all abundantly. The following are the notes from the latest podcast show “Your Spiritual Connection”. I have all the scriptures written out so it will be easy for you to follow along.

As a little review before we get started, we need to remember that Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the one body. That every believer can do the works that Jesus Christ did and greater. That it is done by two main ways. One is by the manifestations of the holy spirit, and two, by the ministries of service that every believer has. Every believer has all manifestations and every believer as a ministry of service. Both of these are done by the same spirit given to every believer.

Romans 12:3 – 10 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. ⁴ For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: ⁵ So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. ⁶ Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; ⁷ Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; ⁸ Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. ⁹ Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. ¹⁰ Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;”

Looking at the word 'measure' that is mentioned in verse 3 that measure means unlimited and I'll show you this in the following verses.

John 3:34 & 35 “ For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.”

If it is without measure it means it's unlimited. Every believer can do the works of Jesus Christ did and greater. What about you. You must have the measure unlimited available to you.

Let's think about the Connections that we see around us. Like the electrical connection, we have to our homes. It starts with a power plant than comes by wires on poles down the sides of the roads to our house. We have a connection from the power plant to our homes. We decide how to use that power because we have a connection. 

A few years ago we lost our connection to the power company because of storms that we had here. We lost power for 7 days. After being without the power my wife and I decided to get a whole house generator. With that whole house generator if the power ever stopped we would be self-sufficient.

What about our connection with God. We have that via spirit and we can utilize nine manifestations. But with God, we never lose the connection. We do not want to be running off our own sufficiency.

In the podcast show, I talk about some other connections. Like we used to have phone lines for our connection to communicate with others. Now from the internet, we can get valuable information by means of text, writings, audio and visual, pictures and how-to instructions. This all sounds a lot like the manifestations of the spirit to me. We can get information from God by all those ways and it's always better and it never has a problem with the connection on God's side. If there was ever a problem with the connection it would be on our side.

Another connection that I looked at was that of water. We need wells, reservoirs, water tanks and Towers, and aqueduct. We also can get water from rivers and lakes. But whenever I think about water source I think about this verse in Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 2:13 “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”

Our connection starts when we get born again and when we're born again. We received holy spirit, sometimes called, the spirit of Christ, and Christ in you.

Ephesians 1:19 – 23 “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, ²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: ²² And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, ²³ Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”

Filleth all in all means unlimited power to us.

Ephesians 3:20 & 21 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, ²¹ Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”

We have exceedingly and abundant power available to us. That's unlimited power that works within us but it's not just within ourselves as a little generator. We need to be connected to God through Jesus Christ to us.

John 5:19 “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”

The Son can do nothing of himself, what about you?

John 15:1 & 5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

We need to stay connected. We can do nothing without God in Christ in us.

2 Corinthians 2:14 – 16 “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. ¹⁵ For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: ¹⁶ To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?”

Who is sufficient for these things? The answer is in 2nd Corinthians chapter 3.

2 Corinthians 3:3 – 6 “ Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. ⁴ And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: ⁵ Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; ⁶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

Our sufficiency is of God. We can never forget that. Our sufficiency is through Christ to God.

2 Corinthians 3:7 – 18 “But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: ⁸ How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? ⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. ¹¹ For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. ¹² Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: ¹³ And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: ¹⁴ But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. ¹⁵ But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. ¹⁶ Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. ¹⁷ Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. ¹⁸ But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

We can continue to grow into the same image by the spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 4:1 – 7 “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; ² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. ³ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: ⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. ⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. ⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

The power is of God and not of us. We should not look at our holy spirit as little generators that we have within ourselves.
