Ep. 1: A Terrible, Holy Beginning
What does it mean to be the Church when we encounter suffering we don't know how to fix? What do we do when someone's story is more complicated than our training, our programs, or our easy answers can handle? When we find ourselves face-to-face with trauma, abuse, addiction, poverty, or profound brokenness, what does faithfulness to Jesus actually look like? In this first episode of The Church at Hell's Gate, we begin exploring a conviction at the heart of this podcast: the Church was made for places like these. We may not always know what to do. But we can learn how to enter hard places with courage, wisdom, humility, and the love of Christ—and become people through whom His hope can flow. The darkness is real. But the darkness does not win.
