Lessons In Honesty From A Fried Lambo - EP 210
Today, I’m sharing a story about my brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto and how a small mistake turned into a massive lesson in trust, leadership, and communication. I took the car to a trusted shop for some paint protection film, and while it sat there, the battery died. No big deal, right? But instead of calling me or Lamborghini, they tried to fix it themselves… and jumped it using the wrong port. What followed was a series of bad decisions, a fried battery system, and worst of all, no one told me the truth until I found out the hard way. This wasn’t just a car issue; it was a communication breakdown. I don’t think they were trying to be shady. I think they were trying to protect me from bad news. But in doing so, they made the situation worse and broke trust. And that’s the point. If you work with high-level people, honesty and speed matter more than perfection. Mistakes won’t get you fired. Covering them up will. Leaders can’t fix what they don’t know. And when you wait too long to speak up, that silence becomes more damaging than the problem itself. If you’re a leader, listen closely: you train your team with your reactions. If your people are afraid to be honest, you’ve trained them to lie. That’s not leadership, it’s fear. On the other hand, when someone brings you a problem and a plan, and you respond with calmness and support, that’s how you build loyalty and a strong culture. The test of any team or business isn’t whether people make mistakes, it’s whether they trust you enough to tell you when they do. Honesty might be expensive, but dishonesty will cost you everything. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow, especially in the medical business. While my experience and expertise is in scaling all types of medical businesses to 7, 8, 9-figures or more, I can be a mentor to anyone who wants to take ownership of their lives, become a better leader at home and at work, and overcome any obstacle that stands in their way. | | | | |

The Dark Side Of Ambition (PART 2) - EP 209
Ambition is essential if you want to build something that lasts. It’s what drives legacy, growth, and impact—but if you’re not careful, it can also destroy your health, relationships, and identity. In this episode, we’re talking about the double-edged sword of ambition. We’re pulling back the curtain on what happens when you let the hustle take over your life, and sharing real stories about burnout, identity loss, and the price we’ve paid trying to chase more, do more, and be more. This isn’t about quitting ambition—it’s about managing it, so it doesn’t manage you. We also dive into how we keep our ambition in check with habits that ground us—whether that’s working out, spending intentional time with our kids, or unplugging to recharge. We talk about how our ambition has evolved over time and how our definitions of success have shifted. It’s not just about being busy anymore—it’s about being effective. And we reflect on the identity traps that come when your worth is tied too closely to what you achieve, instead of who you are becoming in the process. This episode is for every entrepreneur who’s felt like ambition is both the engine and the enemy. We’re here to say: it doesn’t have to be that way. Ambition, when aligned with purpose, can fuel you instead of drain you. But only if you build the right systems, habits, and self-awareness around it. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow, especially in the medical business. The Lamborghini Lesson - EP 208
As a kid, I was obsessed with cars, monster trucks, hot rods, supercars, all of it. I told my dad I wanted to be a mechanic one day, and he gave me a perspective I never forgot. He told me there was honor in that path, real, honest work—but then he asked me something that changed everything: “Do you want cars to be your livelihood… or your hobby?” That question shifted my entire trajectory. Fast forward to today, and I finally bought my dream car, a blue Aegir Pearl Lamborghini. Not leased. Not borrowed. Custom-built, piece by piece. And as it rolled off the truck, it wasn’t just a car; it was a childhood dream fulfilled. But here's what most people don’t expect: that feeling didn’t last. And it wasn’t supposed to. For high performers, the goal isn’t the thing. The goal is growth. That car was emotional, rewarding, and meaningful, but I celebrated, took it in, and then asked myself, “What’s next?” The dream got checked off, so the bar moved. Not because I’m ungrateful, but because I’m still breathing. Still building. Still capable of more. Real entrepreneurs don’t stop once they’ve “made it.” They keep leveling up, again and again. So, whether you’re chasing your first six-figure month, your dream home, or your own supercar, hit the goal, and then raise the bar. Because our purpose isn’t to achieve one dream and stop, it’s to become the kind of person who keeps dreaming, keeps evolving, and keeps doing the work to become worthy of what’s next. This episode is about the real payoff of achieving your goals and why the best thing you can do after hitting one is to go build the next. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow, especially in the medical business. The Dark Side of Ambition -EP 207
In this episode, we’re pulling back the curtain on something that doesn’t make the highlight reel: the dark side of ambition. Ambition is often praised and glorified; it drives success, fuels late nights, and builds empires. But what people don’t talk about is the cost. That relentless drive can leave you physically wrecked, emotionally burned out, and disconnected from the very people you’re building everything for. I’ve lived it. I've sacrificed health, relationships, and even my own peace chasing goals that, in hindsight, didn’t always matter. We get real about how unchecked ambition can show up in the day-to-day snapping at your team during a wedding, staying up all night chasing numbers, or needing to “win” so badly that you forget to ask yourself what you’re even chasing. Amanda and I open up about what it’s taken from us, what it’s taught us, and how we’re learning to balance the hustle with compassion for others and ourselves. We talk about being more present, how we each try to connect with our partners and kids, and the habits we’re building to protect our mental and physical health. Because the truth is, building something great shouldn’t mean burning out in the process. Ambition isn’t the enemy, but blind ambition is. This episode is for every entrepreneur, leader, or creator who’s ever pushed themselves to the edge in the name of success. If you’ve ever felt addicted to achievement or stuck in constant go-mode, this one’s for you. Let’s talk about how to stay driven without driving yourself into the ground. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. Caring: The Curse and The Key - EP 206
One of the biggest mental blocks I see in entrepreneurs, especially early on, is around pricing. We hesitate to charge what we’re really worth, not because the market won’t bear it, but because we’re still thinking like our old selves. I’ve been there too. Most of us come from backgrounds where money was tight, and when it comes time to price our services, we imagine what we could’ve afforded years ago. But here’s the truth: you're not your customer, and your old financial situation should have nothing to do with your current pricing strategy. In this episode, I talk about how pricing should be rooted in the real value you provide, not your emotional hang-ups. I break down how to assess the market, evaluate your skill level, and understand where you stand compared to your competitors. If others in your space are charging $1,000 and you know you bring more to the table, then you should charge more. On the flip side, if you're still gaining traction or experience, price accordingly, but do it based on facts, not feelings. You have to take your own wallet out of the equation. Stop undercharging out of guilt. Stop projecting your past onto your current clients. They didn’t come to you because you were the cheapest; they came because they believe you can help them. Your job is to deliver and price accordingly. Let's talk about how to shift your mindset, reclaim your value, and charge like the expert you are. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow, especially in the medical business. Leadership Sucks Sometimes: 5 Truths You Just Have To Accept - EP 204
Today, we're diving deep into the realities of leadership, what it looks like behind the curtain, after the motivational quotes and Instagram highlights. Before we get into it, I share a quick story about planning a birthday party for my one-year-old that went from low-key to full-on Project X with mechanical bulls, robot dancers, and mariachi bands. It’s a hilarious reminder that sometimes, leadership at home can mirror leadership in business plans, and plans can grow quickly; if you’re not careful, things can spiral out of control. However, the key takeaway is that leadership is about managing chaos, whether it’s a birthday party or a company. In business, leadership isn’t all TED Talks and latte meetings. It’s adult daycare with payroll. It’s putting out fires, repeating yourself endlessly, getting ghosted by employees, and sometimes even getting sued by clients. It’s being the last to rest, the first to take responsibility, and the one who carries the weight when everyone else walks away. We talk about building resilient systems, maintaining emotional control, and how the things that used to shake you five years ago barely faze you now. That’s growth, but it doesn’t come easy, and it sure as hell doesn’t come fast. This episode gets real about firing people you care about, dealing with betrayal, navigating lawsuits, and staying focused when leadership feels unfair. I also share the importance of mentorship, the emotional toll on women in leadership, and how to keep your head in the game when everything feels personal. Whether you're leading a med spa, building a startup, or just trying to keep your business from burning down, this conversation will help you breathe through the chaos, harden your knuckles, and remember why you started. Leadership is hard, but if you’re built for it, it’s always worth it. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. While my experience and expertise is in scaling all types of medical businesses to 7, 8, 9-figures or more, I can be a mentor to anyone who wants to take ownership of their lives, become a better leader at home and at work, and overcome any obstacle that stands in their way. When Money Doesn't Motivate - EP 202
In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain. I’ve built the businesses, hit the numbers, bought the cars, the house, the watch—and I’m on pace for eight figures in personal income. But here’s the part no one tells you: sometimes I wake up and feel nothing. Not because I don’t love the game, but because once you’ve “made it,” the hunger changes. You’re not chasing anymore—you’re maintaining. And that gets dangerous. Success without purpose becomes pressure. You stop being driven by vision and start being driven by fear—fear of losing what you built. That’s not freedom. That’s a golden cage. I had to ask myself real questions: What do I actually care about? What’s worth suffering for? Because if you don’t know, you’ll burn out doing too much of what doesn’t matter. If your fire is flickering, don’t ignore it. Dig in. Get honest. Because the real win isn’t just building something big—it’s building something that means something. Otherwise, you’ll look back and realize you climbed the wrong mountain, with no one to celebrate with at the top. You Need The Spiral Mindset - EP 200
In this episode, I talk about something that hit me hard: the idea that growth is not linear, it's spiral. Inspired by Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí and his masterpiece, the Sagrada Família, I break down how his spiral-based design philosophy mirrors the path of entrepreneurship. We do not move in perfect lines. We loop back. We revisit old challenges. But every time we return, we rise a little higher, with more clarity, more precision, more grit. I share what this realization has meant for my own journey—how I’ve had to relearn lessons, rebuild systems, and refine my thinking over and over again. Just like Gaudí, you might not finish everything you start. You might leave some work unfinished. But if you build with intention—if you build in spirals—you’ll create something that lasts far beyond your own timeline. This is not just about business. It’s about legacy. It’s about building something so beautiful and powerful that people feel it long after you're gone. So if you’re frustrated with your pace or feel like you’re circling the same problems, tune in. Because you’re not stuck—you’re spiraling upward. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. Deep Questions About Business and Life FT. Vaughn Kohler (PART 2) - EP 199
In this episode, we are talking about something that impacts every part of your business but often goes unnoticed. It is the connection between environment and behavior. I have been thinking a lot about how much of what people do, whether it is booking a service, joining a team, or staying loyal, comes down to how they feel in the moment. Their surroundings, the vibe, the small details all play a massive role in shaping outcomes. That idea sparked a deeper conversation with Amanda and Vaughn. We talked about how simple changes like painting a wall, adjusting your check-in process, or removing visual clutter can influence customer perception and drive better results. It is not just about aesthetics, it is about psychology. We also dug into team dynamics, how to align roles with people's personal goals, and why creating a sense of ownership leads to better performance and loyalty. This episode goes beyond surface level strategy. We reflect on the value of kindness, the power of encouragement, and what it really means to do the right thing, especially when no one is watching. Whether you are leading a team or just trying to grow a more intentional business, this conversation is packed with insights, stories, and practical takeaways to help you serve better, lead better, and feel better doing it. Are You Not Entertained? - EP 198
There’s a scene in Gladiator where Maximus destroys his enemies in the arena, throws his sword, and roars to the stunned crowd, “Are you not entertained?” That moment hits different. He wasn’t performing—he was fighting for something real while everyone else watched for blood. And honestly, that’s how I feel sometimes as an entrepreneur. There’s this constant pressure to be loud, to go viral, to entertain. And sometimes, I just want to scream the same thing. I’m not in this game to dance for likes. Yes, I run a personal brand. Yes, I post content. But I do it with purpose and detachment. I’m not chasing vanity metrics—I’m running real companies with real teams that generate real revenue. This isn’t about clout. It’s about building something that lasts. I want to help others avoid the landmines I’ve stepped on. But I refuse to let social media dictate my value. Because let’s be clear—content doesn’t build wealth. Operations do. Margins do. Team culture does. You want to impress me? Don’t show me your reels. Show me your systems. Show me your leadership. Social media will trick you into thinking applause means success. But I’ve seen too many people with followers and no cash flow. If you’re doing this for attention instead of execution, you’re not building—you’re just performing. And this isn’t the Coliseum. Deep Questions About Business and Life FT. Vaughn Kohler (PART 1) - EP 197
Today’s episode is something different. It’s raw, unscripted, and personal. I’m joined by my co-host, Amanda May, and our guest, Vaughn Kohler, for a conversation that starts with middle school nicknames and ends up diving deep into emotional intelligence, leadership, dating, trauma, and even AI companions. It’s hilarious, it’s human, and yeah—it gets a little weird. We discuss what it means to lead people, what makes someone magnetic in business and life, and how humor, self-awareness, and community play significant roles in both personal healing and professional growth. There are moments of insight, moments of vulnerability, and moments where we can’t stop laughing—because sometimes the best leadership lessons come wrapped in ridiculous stories. We touch on stretch marks, Planned Parenthood STD tests, childhood bullying, and what it takes to connect in a disconnected world. We share the stuff that shaped us, the things that humbled us, and the practices that keep us grounded. So if you’re building something meaningful, navigating the mess of leadership, or just need to laugh at how weird and beautiful this whole journey is, this episode is for you. Everything Connected Take Action - EP 196
Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast. I’m Dr. Alex Spinoso, and while I’ve built multiple businesses into the eight- and nine-figure range, this podcast isn’t about theory or fluff. It’s about what I’ve actually done—what worked, what failed, and what it really takes to lead, scale, and live with purpose. If you’re in the arena—building something, leading something, or betting everything on yourself—then this space is for you. In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of how I got here. From med school and a failed scrub company to launching Genesis Lifestyle Medicine and investing in companies now worth hundreds of millions—it’s all connected. None of it was linear. None of it was clean. But the right people, decisions, and failures added up in ways I couldn’t see at the time. Even the total flops taught me something that paid off later. This is the real story—the one that doesn’t look like a straight line but makes perfect sense when you zoom out. I also share why none of this happens in a vacuum. You can’t do it alone. I wouldn’t be here without my wife, my team, and the people who believed in me before I fully saw it myself. If you’re in the middle of a mess, unsure how it all adds up—this episode is your reminder. Keep moving. The momentum builds when you act. The connection comes after the decision. And one day you’ll look back and realize, this was the moment that changed everything. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. The Discipline of Reinvention - EP 195
Today’s episode is all about reinvention. Not the one-time, flash-in-the-pan kind—but the ongoing, disciplined commitment to becoming someone better, bolder, and more effective in life and business. I showed up ready for this one because reinvention has been my reality more times than I can count. We’re talking about grieving old versions of ourselves, letting go of outdated labels, and embracing what it takes to evolve. Whether you’re leading a business, navigating personal change, or just waking up to the fact that what used to work no longer does—this episode is for you. We also get real about the uncomfortable truth: reinvention requires sacrifice. Sometimes that means cutting ties with people who hold you back, stepping down from roles that no longer serve your growth, or learning new skills from scratch—whether it’s sales, marketing, or language. Reinvention isn’t glamorous. It’s gritty. It’s doing whatever it takes, whether that’s sitting at the front desk, rebuilding your team, or going back to the basics because your future depends on it. And if you’ve ever felt behind, trust me—you’re not. The people you’re comparing yourself to might just have a 10-year head start. At the end of the day, if you’re not growing, you’re dying. And if you’re not actively reinventing, you’re waiting for circumstances to force your hand. In this episode, I challenge you to audit yourself, ask for real feedback, and get brutally honest about what’s working—and what’s not. Reinvention isn’t optional. It’s the cost of leadership. So grab a notebook, because we’re going all in on what it looks like to evolve—intentionally, unapologetically, and repeatedly. When Doors Slam Shut and Plans Fall Through - EP 193
Today, I want to talk about something that every entrepreneur eventually runs into. When the plan falls apart. You mapped it out, lined up the right people, timed it perfectly, and then boom. It crumbles. And it feels personal. I’ve been there, and I used to think it meant I was losing. But after building multiple businesses and leading large teams, I’ve learned this truth the hard way. Delays are not defeats. Closed doors are not failure. They are redirecting. If you’ve been in business long enough, you know that nothing ever goes exactly as planned. Deals collapse. People walk. The ad budget gets wasted. You get ghosted. But I promise you, what looks like rejection is often preparation. What looks like loss is sometimes positioning. And more often than not, it works out better than you could have imagined. So if you’re in the middle of a storm, if your launch flopped, your funding dried up, or you’re questioning your next move, pause. Reframe it. Ask yourself, what might I be getting protected from? What opportunity could be on the other side of this? When you train your mind to respond with that kind of perspective, setbacks do not slow you down. They sharpen you. How To Open Doors Of Opportunity (Part 2) - EP 192
Welcome back to Part 2 of How to Open Doors for Opportunity. In this episode, I am joined again by Amanda May, and we go deep into how entrepreneurs can train themselves to see opportunities that are already right in front of them. We share real-life pivots, personal stories, and the mindset shifts that have helped us spot chances to grow, chances that most people overlook. If you have ever felt stuck or unsure of your next step, this conversation will help you reframe your environment and recognize the doors waiting to be kicked wide open. We talk about the power of massive action, not just thinking, journaling, or manifesting, but actually doing. Whether it is enrolling in a program, walking into the right room, or saying yes before you are fully ready, action is the key that unlocks momentum. Amanda shares how her leap into virtual training started in the middle of a pandemic and how seizing one opportunity with us at Genesis led to something bigger than she could build alone. We talk real numbers, real setbacks, and real decisions that shape what success actually looks like. The episode closes with one of the most important themes of entrepreneurship: grit. Not just motivation or inspiration, but the relentless refusal to quit. The difference between those who win and those who do not is not always talent or intelligence. It is staying in the game long enough to outlast everyone else. This one is for the builders, the grinders, the people who are too stubborn to give up. Let us go. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. How To Open Doors Of Opportunity (Part 1) - EP 189
When people talk about success, they love to glamorize the end result—but rarely talk about the mess, the risks, the decisions made in silence. In this episode, I share the raw, unfiltered story of how I created the opportunities that built my companies from nothing. From listening to the MFCEO Project in between shifts at urgent care, to maxing out half my net worth to join a mastermind I barely understood, to sleeping on a mattress in a rented foyer—I didn’t wait for the right time. I created the momentum myself. Amanda May joins me to dig deeper into how opportunities show up in disguise—as hard choices, as sacrifices, as risks that don’t make sense on paper. We talk about what it means to start with the end in mind, why most people fail before they begin, and how knowing what you really want changes everything. I share the exact moment I almost walked away from the Arte Syndicate application, and how a rock concert and a half-dead Jethro Tull pushed me to click submit. We also unpack how relationships, the right rooms, and the willingness to pivot at the right time can redefine your entire trajectory. The urgent care plan didn’t pan out, but it led me to Genesis. What seemed like a setback became the launchpad for everything. This is the real truth behind building something meaningful: you don’t wait for doors to open. You build the damn door—and then you walk through it. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. Why I Tell Clinics Not to Start with Aesthetics - EP 191
If you're just starting in the medical clinic space and think Botox and fillers are your ticket to quick profits… pump the brakes. In this episode, I explain why I never recommend starting your clinic with aesthetics as your core service line. The competition is brutal, and the big players can undercut you on price all day long. You’ll be fighting uphill battles before you’ve even found your stride. But does that mean you should avoid aesthetics completely? Absolutely not. Once you’ve built a steady stream of clients who trust you and value your expertise, aesthetics can become a powerful upsell tool if you approach it strategically. I’ll walk you through exactly what needs to be in place to make it work: the right provider, a clear upsell path, and a full facial assessment model that drives higher-ticket services like fillers, skin care, micro needling, and more. I’ll even share a real-world example of a $1.2 million/year clinic we bought that made $0 in profit, all because they relied solely on Botox. After stepping in, we had to completely restructure the service offering to include high-margin treatments that actually moved the needle. If you’re serious about growth and long-term profitability, tune in. This is what most people won’t tell you about the aesthetics game. Should You Trust Your Gut? - EP 190
In today’s episode, we’re diving headfirst into the balance between facts and feelings—where to rely on cold, hard data, and where your gut might just save your ass. When it comes to business strategy, pricing, products, and systems. You need to operate on facts. Numbers don’t lie. But when it comes to people? That’s a different game entirely. We’re breaking down why instinct is often your best defense in relationships, partnerships, and hiring decisions. I’ll share wisdom from some greats, like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, and we’ll explore the science behind intuition. How evolution hardwired us to sense danger and read between the lines. From moms who “just know” something’s wrong, to that strange vibe you get in a meeting, you’ll learn to recognize red flags before they become regrets. And yeah, I’ll take it all the way there with a story that proves this isn’t paranoia—it’s protection. You’ll walk away from this episode knowing when to trust data, and when to trust your gut, even if everything on paper looks perfect. Sometimes, the resume says "model citizen," but your instincts scream, “Run.” Don’t ignore them. Tune in, turn up the volume, and let’s win at life—on facts and feelings. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow, especially in the medical business. LegitScript: Your Secret Weapon in Medical Marketing - EP 188
Let’s talk about something that most medical business owners either don’t know about—or wait too long to deal with: LegitScript certification. This third-party approval is basically your golden ticket for digital advertising. Without it, Meta, Google, and Bing will shut down your ads the moment you mention a prescription drug or medical procedure. With it, you can speak directly and confidently in your marketing without dancing around compliance issues. I break down everything you need to know—from the cost (around $2K–$5K per year) to what it actually allows you to do, like using drug names and discussing treatments openly online. If you're not certified, you're stuck playing defense: vague language, ad rejections, and constant risk of shutdown. But if you are certified, your ability to market becomes a strategic advantage over competitors who aren't. I’ll also share what it takes to get certified. You’ll need a clean website, no unapproved claims, and all of your partner pharmacies must also be certified or accredited. It took us over a year to get approved—but it doesn't have to take that long. I’ll walk you through how to prep your site and your business so you can get through the process much faster. If you want to scale your medical business the right way, this episode is a must-listen. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. Welcome The Blowback - EP 187
In this episode, I’m diving headfirst into something most people run from—interpersonal conflict. The truth is, average entrepreneurs avoid confrontation because they crave comfort more than growth. They don’t want to be challenged or told they’re wrong. But if you want to build something that lasts, you need to reframe conflict not as chaos, but as clarity. You need it to sharpen your thinking, refine your processes, and get the truth on the table. I’ll break down why an upset client or a frustrated team member isn’t a threat—it’s a gift. If they’re still talking, you still have a shot at solving the problem. Silence is the real killer. I’m sharing why elite entrepreneurs welcome tough feedback, encourage uncomfortable conversations, and treat friction as fuel. Because if you’re in business, you’re in the Intel business—and feedback is your most valuable currency. So here’s your challenge: Stop being soft. Stop mistaking politeness for progress. If you’ve been dodging tough conversations just to keep the peace, you’re not protecting your business—you’re weakening it. Start creating a culture where truth is rewarded, where blowback is welcomed, and where you show up ready to solve. That’s how real leaders operate. That’s how real businesses are built. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. Metabolic Health, Peptides, and Thinking Like a CEO - EP 186
In this episode, I’m a guest on the Empower Your Health podcast. We go deep into what it actually takes to achieve lasting health—not just physically, but metabolically, hormonally, and mentally. We cover topics like obesity, insulin resistance, testosterone, GLP-1s, gut health, and how traditional medicine is falling short for millions of Americans. We also dive into why your provider probably isn’t running the tests that matter—and what to do about it. I explain the Genesis approach to care, why we prioritize diagnostics, and how our model is built around truly healing people, not managing symptoms for life. We hit on common mistakes, industry roadblocks, and the massive need for a more integrative model of medicine. Toward the end, I open up about mindset—how I grew Genesis into a quarter-billion-dollar business, and what I teach in my mastermind, Charismedx. We talk grit, speed of implementation, energy management, and what it really takes to win in business and life without losing your soul. This one’s packed with hard truth, practical tools, and zero fluff. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. How to Calculate Net Profit Per Patient Visit - EP 185
In today’s episode, I’m answering a powerful question that every medical clinic owner needs to be asking: What is your true net profit per patient visit? Understanding your gross profit isn’t enough—you need clarity on your actual numbers, including staffing, supplies, overhead, and acquisition costs. Whether you're running weight loss, hormone therapy, sexual health, or aesthetics services, knowing the real cost per visit is critical to scaling profitably. We’ll break down how to approach this from both a high-level strategy and a tactical perspective. From calculating true cost per acquisition to estimating staffing time and drug costs per service line, I’ll walk you through how to get precise numbers per business pillar. You’ll also learn why a 30% net profit should be your gold standard, and how to boost it with the right add-ons and smart equipment choices—plus, how to use AI tools to do the math if you don’t have a CFO in-house. Cut The Noise - EP 184
Today, I’m calling you out. If you're serious about winning in business and in life, there are three toxic habits you're probably doing on social media that are slowing you down—and it’s time to cut the crap. I call them the Three P’s: pouting about your private life, pissing on your competition, and posting political rants. If you're doing any of these, you're wasting time, draining your energy, and sabotaging your credibility. And yes—I’m coming in hot, because sugarcoating this won't help you grow. Listen, I'm not saying you shouldn't have emotions or beliefs—but social media isn’t your therapist, your battleground, or your soapbox. It’s a tool. A weapon. A platform for building, not bleeding. In this episode, I break down why airing out personal drama, trash-talking competitors, or ranting about politics is killing your momentum and making you look weak. I’ll even hit you with some science to back it all up. By the end of this episode, you’ll know exactly how to shift your mindset and start using social media like the power player you say you want to be. If you’re ready to stop playing small, stop feeding the algorithm your insecurity, and actually build something that matters—this one’s for you. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. Navigating the Workplace as a High-Achieving Woman - EP 183
In this episode, we dive into a real and often uncomfortable reality that high-achieving women face in the workplace—jealousy, competition, and sabotage, not from men, but often from other women. I walk through the dynamics of what happens when you shine brightly in your career and how, unfortunately, that can trigger insecurities in others. Amanda shares her own experiences navigating these challenges and why it’s critical to recognize the difference between focusing on your growth versus wasting energy trying to win people over who have already decided not to like you. We get real about the importance of staying professional, preserving your energy, and protecting your focus. We talk about building strong relationships with women who inspire and uplift you rather than trying to fit into environments where you’re not valued. Amanda also shares a powerful story about bouncing back after major life changes and why continuing to shine your light unapologetically is essential—not just for yourself, but for inspiring others to do the same. If you ever needed a reminder that staying true to who you are will win in the long run, this conversation is it. We also dig into the deeper mindset work it takes to stay confident when facing jealousy or criticism. We talk about how professionalism, integrity, and surrounding yourself with the right people will carry you further than any shortcut ever could. This is your permission to stop shrinking, stop second-guessing, and keep showing up fully in your life and career. Let's get into it. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. What We Use to Train, Track, and Communicate with Our Team - EP 182
In today’s episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the internal systems we use at Genesis Lifestyle Medicine to scale and manage dozens of clinics across the country. From team communication to training and HR, it all comes down to choosing the right platforms early and building around them. I talk about how we’ve used Workplace for Meta—essentially a business version of Facebook—to keep everyone connected, whether they’re in the U.S., the Philippines, or Colombia, and how we're now transitioning over to Workvivo as Workplace phases out. I also break down how critical our Learning Management System (LMS) is for onboarding and training. Everything from provider protocols to clinic director training to onboarding paperwork runs through our LMS. It’s what ensures that no matter which clinic you walk into, you're getting the same Genesis experience. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have these systems in place if you want to scale without losing your company’s culture or standards. And when it comes to payroll and PTO tracking, I share why we rely on ADP—and why trying to manage payroll manually is a recipe for disaster as you grow. The bottom line is this: the right systems will carry you from one location to dozens. We’ve scaled Workplace, our LMS, and our payroll systems from four clinics to dozens, and they’re still serving us well today. In this episode, I’ll walk you through why these platforms matter, how they help you avoid major headaches down the road, and why you should always be thinking about the next step in your growth. Let’s dive in. Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. What Does Entrepreneurship Cost? - EP 181
On this episode of the Spinoso Podcast, I dive into a question that too many people overlook when they jump into entrepreneurship: what does it truly cost? I break it down through the lens of one of the greatest superhero movies ever made—Avengers: Infinity War—and the haunting moment when Thanos says it cost him “everything.” While we’re definitely not taking business advice from a villain, there’s a hard truth entrepreneurs need to hear: building something meaningful demands sacrifice—your time, your energy, and sometimes even the people you love. I share the brutal realities most people aren’t ready for. Entrepreneurship isn't about yachts, luxury, or flexing on Instagram; it's about missing events, pushing through exhaustion, carrying the weight of your dreams even when it feels unbearable. But sacrificing for your mission never excuses you from being an absent or selfish spouse, parent, or friend. If you’re going to be away grinding, then the moments you’re home better be undeniable. Your family didn’t sign up for your business—you did. At the end of the day, if entrepreneurship is going to cost you everything, you better be damn sure it's worth it. Money alone isn’t enough. You need a bigger purpose—a "Rome"—something that outlives you. In this episode, I challenge you to ask yourself the real questions: What are you willing to pay? And when it’s all said and done, will it have been worth it? Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business.
