Camping With Kat and Coy
We're Kat and Coy — a Black couple who called a tent in a Texas State Park home for 4 YEARS. Not an RV. Not glamping. A real tent. Through 105-degree summers, freezing winters, thunderstorms, bugs, raccoons, and coyotes. This is Camping With Kat and Coy: Nature All Around Me. We started this video podcast to dispel the myth that camping isn't for us. Black families DO camp. Urban families DO camp. And you don't need expensive gear or years of experience to start. Each week we share honest tips and tricks from living in and with nature: how to stay warm and cool in a tent, dealing with mosquitoes, ants, snakes and wildlife, budget camping gear that actually works, camp cooking, hygiene and hair care outdoors, camping with kids, and finding peace in the sights and sounds of nature. If you're an urban family, first-time camper, or looking for real Black family camping tips, Texas State Park camping, and affordable camping for beginners — welcome home. Because there's Nature All Around Me. And you belong out here too. Watch the video version on YouTube. Audio available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and everywhere you listen.
