Hello King and Priest. You might have noticed that I didn't release a podcast episode last week. I was planning to, but I had a breakdown with Carly. In other words, we had a collision. When this happened, all desire to publish an episode disappeared, it evaporated. And here's the thing if you're up to something big - when you're up to something big, you'll be challenged, you'll be stretched. And by "something big," I mean a life other than a life of default. If we keep living the way we're living now and doing what we're doing now, we can pretty much predict how our life will turn out. Doing something big is going for a non-default outcome. Now, if your relationship with your spouse is off, every other area of life will be affected. Carly had told me that she didn't feel that I empathized with her. She said that she doesn't feel like I care. I was triggered because it hurts, it's painful to think that I try to be the best husband I can and I still fall short. This threw me into an emotional tailspin. And in this place, it took away all motivation to publish an episode. I felt like an imposter. How am I supposed to create a podcast about being a King and Priest when I can't even manage myself in my own marriage? Well, I managed to get through it and here we are again. But here's what I want you to consider - a loss or deficiency in one area of your life affects all areas of your life. And this is at the core of what it means to be a King and a Priest. We pick ourselves up off the ground and get on the horse again. This is the gift that Jesus Christ gives us, the gift to begin anew. Now, last week we talked about the Systematic Sedation of men, in Episode 7. You discovered how over the past 200 years men have been trained, taught and educated that emotions are unhealthy and "feelings don't matter." You discovered how the role of women and men has changed and now we're in an age of confusion where we're desperately trying to figure out, "where do I fit in." Today we're going to talk about a discovery that I had that affected my marriage, my business and financial success, my health and fitness … everything in my life. You see, when I dug down into my marriage problems, into my business problems, into my financial problems, into my crises of faith, into every problem in life I have … I discovered at the root of all of it are three main lies. These three lies lie at the heart of my disconnection with my wife Carly. They lie at the heart of limits on my financial success. They lie at the heart of my disconnection with God. Yes, I discovered that there are three lies that I tell myself that sabotage me every single day.

It was July 1, 2020. I stared at myself in the bathroom mirror and realized that my marriage was majorly screwed up. I asked myself, "How did I get here?" After 17 years of marriage and six kids, for the first time ever, I thinking about divorce. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad compared to another 20+ years living in a mediocre marriage. I was unhappy, and so was my wife. This kicked off a deep dive of discovery that ultimately led me to discover the systematic sedation of men that has been occurring over the past two years.
