Reading the Bible 101

Reading the Bible 101
Hello friend! What better way to learn about God then to read His love letter to us. Yes, the Bible was written by several different authors BUT it was completely inspired by God. In this episode we talk about different translations of the Bible and why I personally enjoy a study Bible. If you do not own a physical Bible, no worries my friend, there is a free Bible app you can download and the cool thing is it has the option to view different translations. The two Bibles I talk about in this episode are Bibles I have at my house and use. My favorite and most used one (I have had the longest) is The Life Application Study Bible, NIV by Zondervan. The other Bible is the MacArthur Study Bible, ESV, by Crossway. If you would like a physical Bible there are SOOOOO many places where you can purchase one, you can always look at thrift stores and book stores, of course Walmart and Amazon. There is also a website called christianbook.com and they have great deals throughout the year and I believe they offer discounts on ones that are slightly defective. If you want a very beautiful Bible, check out on IG @lovealldesignco. Challenge: Continue to read daily, minimum of 10 minutes that is BIBLE only (not devotional or bible study) and then write out a verse that spoke to you. Next, lets get more comfortable with prayer. Pray before you read, that the Lord will help guard you from distractions and open your heart and ears to learn what He would have for you to hear that day. Then afterwards a prayer that the Lord will help you keep His word on your heart and ways you can implement His word in your life. @Callieammons is the enneagram coach I had mentioned I worked with, she is awesome and I would highly recommend following her if you have IG, she is a HUGE lover of Christ and just radiates joy. In the episode I mentioned "level 500 christianity" and I just want to say that I was using this as a joke and there is no levels of christianity. There is matureness that comes from growing and diving deeper in your relationship with God, but no perfect level that we strive to hit. Our goal as christians is to be more like Jesus, continuing to give deeper in our relationship with Him and share the gospel :) I hope you enjoyed this episode, please let me know: *What you think about the podcast. *Prayer request you have. Prayer is powerful! *What you would like to hear on the podcast in the future. You can find me on IG @boilingwaterpodcast See you there my friend!

Bringing back the Boiling Water

Bringing back the Boiling Water
Y'all, it has been a long long time since the last podcast and God has been tugging at me to get back to it, so here I am. I feel so unqualified but I know it will be all good if it is to glorify Him and that is what this podcast is all about. 2020 has been wild but lets get it together and on the right path for the end of the year and bust open 2021! Baby Saye is on the way! Next few episodes: -Reading the Bible 101 -Prayer 101 -Worship and Fellowship -Sharing the Gospel 101 -Married Life -Friendship .......and some more ways to add more Jesus in your daily life! Next podcast will be out within the next two weeks! Please reach out to me on IG at Boilingwaterpodcast, please send your podcast questions, and prayer requests. Challenge1. Write out a gratitude/thankful list, go over it several times a week and add to it. We have A LOT to be grateful for and we need to praise God for those things, no mater how big or small. 2. Set aside at least 10 minutes (set a timer if you need to) and read the BIBLE. Do not use this time for devotion or a bible study book you are doing, just straight up Bible reading. Pray over what you read and another suggestion is to write down your favorite verse that spoke to you, so you can carry it with you throughout the day. We need to fill our minds with things of GOD! ....whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Philippians 4:8 -What we put into our minds determines what comes out in words and actions. (this is from the study bible commentary) See y'all back here in 2 weeks and check out IG account for more updates and please pop by to say Hello :) Have a blessed day! Jesus loves you!
