Identity Advantage with Daphne Delay
Helping Others See Themselves in Christ
info_outline Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right | Episode 174 07/23/2019
Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right | Episode 174 "But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them,[a] he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, TPT). Two wrongs don’t make a right. Actually two wrongs create an opportunity for the devil to heap on more shame, guilt, and regret. And it’s been proven that all self-defeating behavior is rooted in shame. The remedy? Simple, yet sincere, repentance. God doesn’t ask us to repent to shame us, but to cleanse us (1 John 1:9). Daphne Delay In response to this on social media, a friend commented, "In desperate times, you quickly resort to what you know..." and this is true. But you'll be surprised to find out she was talking about knowing who you are in Christ.
info_outline A Spirit of Faith | Episode 173 06/05/2019
A Spirit of Faith | Episode 173 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). FAITH is so important to Christianity. But what is it? What does it mean to have faith? And how does a person actually operate (or activate) faith? The Bible answers all of these questions.
info_outline Footprints in a Minefield | Episode 172 05/29/2019
Footprints in a Minefield | Episode 172 "Righteousness will go before Him and make His footsteps our pathway" (Psalm 85:13). One of the hardest instructions in the Bible to follow is probably "...walk by faith, and not by sight." But when you understand the divine guidance God has given us in Christ, then it is possible! This world is full of evil, but it's also full of glory. So what are you focusing on? Choose today to put your trust in Christ and His righteousness (His way of doing things) and I promise you will succeed -- because if you ever see footprints in a mine field, you better walk in them.
info_outline Life as a Seed | Episode 171 05/22/2019
Life as a Seed | Episode 171 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life" (John 12:24-25). If we would view our life as a seed, then the words of Jesus make more sense. A single seed can never produce a harvest if it remains alone. But if it dies (if it's given to God) then it produces a great harvest! And whereas it's hard to understand the instruction to "lose our life," the truth is God only wants you and I to love our life less than we love Him. And the end result is worth it!
info_outline Keeper of Your Heart | Episode 170 05/15/2019
Keeper of Your Heart | Episode 170 And He said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?" (Mark 4:13). What a statement by Jesus. He was referring to the parable of the sower. If we don't understand that parable, how will we learn anything from the other parables? In this week's episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne explains the parable of the sower AND gives easy points on how to have and maintain the good heart Jesus encouraged us all to have.
info_outline Grace That Justifies | Episode 169 05/08/2019
Grace That Justifies | Episode 169 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:23-24). It's hard to fathom sometimes that someone would step in and willingly take our punishment. But as you know, that's exactly what Jesus did for us all. There is a grace that justified us. Grace, by definition, is divine, unmerited favor, available to the sinner for salvation and the redeemed for victorious living. The key word here is available. Jesus took our place whether we want to accept it or not. On this week's podcast, we look at the story of Barabbas -- and how much we have in common with him.
info_outline Healthy Guilt | Episode 168 04/24/2019
Healthy Guilt | Episode 168 "Whenever our hearts makes us feel guilty and remind us of our failures, we know that God is much greater and more merciful than our conscience and He knows everything there is to know about us" (1 John 3:20, TPT). It's good to have self-awareness (one definition of conscience). But don't forget God is greater than our worried hearts! In other words, God can use our conscience by means of "healthy guilt" to prompt us down the right road. But God's greater purpose is that it will produce greater confidence in us! This is why the Bible says "When our hearts don't condemn us, we have bold freedom to speak face-to-face with God!" Tune in to learn more!
info_outline Come Out From Behind | Episode 167 04/17/2019
Come Out From Behind | Episode 167 "But to you who fear My name, the Sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves" (Malachi 4:2). This week we're talking about coming out from behind a facade. The definitions of facade describe the front or public view of a building. And isn't that a lot like people? Many live temporarily, or sometimes permanently (their entire lives) behind a facade (an illusion of what they want others to see). But God's Word says we can know who we are -- without inferiority! We can be restored and healed, set free from bondage, stand whole, even in our honest reflection of the moment (of how we feel or the situation we're facing).
info_outline Be Careful What You Think | Episode 166 04/12/2019
Be Careful What You Think | Episode 166 "O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge" (1 Timothy 6:20). I have this wooden plaque in my house that reads: Be careful what you think. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your character. Your character is everything. In other words, as Proverbs tells us: "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (23:7), we are what we think about -- we become what we allow in or out of our thought life. And in order to grow in our identity in Christ, we must act like the doorkeeper of our thoughts. | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline The Value of a Soul | Episode 165 04/05/2019
The Value of a Soul | Episode 165 "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26). In order to understand the value God puts on a soul, it would be good to understand: what is a soul? The Bible, both Old and New Testament, describes it as our personality -- more specifically, our mind, will, and emotions. Before salvation, our body contained our soul with an empty spirit. But after salvation, our body contains our spirit (where Christ abides) with an ever-renewing soul -- meaning our soul must now come under submission to our spirit. However, God never wanted us to lose our personality (soul) because it's valuable to God! | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline Living Expressions | Episode 164 03/29/2019
Living Expressions | Episode 164 "Then he carefully unveiled to them the revelation of himself throughout the Scripture. He started from the beginning and explained the writings of Moses and all the prophets, showing how they wrote of him and revealed the truth about himself" (Luke 24:27, TPT). Jesus undoubtedly knew who He was. But we find others, like the Apostle John, who also knew who they were (and who they were not). When you and I can find ourselves in the scriptures, and make a bold confession of who we are, we become living expressions of Christ on the earth! And not only that, but the Bible says when you know who you are, the darkness cannot diminish your light! | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline You Believe This Stuff | Episode 163 03/22/2019
You Believe This Stuff | Episode 163 "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe --and tremble!" (James 2:19). Can you imagine the impact on our world if Billy Graham had chosen to step out of ministry when he was distraught over the possibility that the Bible wasn't true? Many lives would have been lost. But thankfully, he made a decision to believe the Bible was God's Word BY FAITH. And the same is true for us. If the devil can stop our faith, he can plagiarize our identity and stop all furtherance of faith by works. The best compliment I ever received was, "You believe this stuff!" My answer was, "Why, yes I do!" And it made all the difference in my life and ministry. | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline Bullets or Seeds | Episode 162 03/08/2019
Bullets or Seeds | Episode 162 "Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love with are in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 1:13). Let's talk about the power of your words -- TO YOURSELF -- because words are either bullets (that damage) or seeds (that produce). Words matter, so how we talk to each other reveals the abundance of what actually fills our heart. And if we turn the tables and not just look at words as something we speak to others, but realize how we speak to ourself also matters, then we'll find it much easier to choose words of grace. So remember, believe the best and forgive the rest (and let your words reflect this). | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline Got Baggage? | Episode 161 03/01/2019
Got Baggage? | Episode 161 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Every person in the world, no matter where they came from, has baggage. In other words, everyone carries around things that hinder their freedom, progress, and development. It started with Adam and has continued for generations. So WHY are we so afraid to admit we have baggage? If everyone has some, why have we let the devil beat us up so bad over it? Over and over, in the scriptures, we are told to lay aside every weight, cast our cares (bags) on God, and live free from things that hinder us. So isn't it time to bring our stuff, unpack our stuff, sort through our stuff, and put away our stuff? YES! | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline Let Love Be Your Identifier | Episode 160 02/15/2019
Let Love Be Your Identifier | Episode 160 "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). It's an appropriate week to talk about the power LOVE has on our identity. We are all shaped by love (or the lack thereof). If identity is a sense of self, than an identifier is something that identifies a person or thing -- in other words, something that reveals identity. Henry Drummond, in his book The Greatest Thing in the World, said: "Would that we could all move into that love chapter and live there." Let's be known for our love ❤️ | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline First John 1:9 It! | Episode 159 02/08/2019
First John 1:9 It! | Episode 159 "But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, TPT). Shame is an enemy of confession. But confession holds the power of our freedom so it's obvious why the devil fights us in the realm of guilt and shame. We've all fallen and our prone to do so again at some point. But that's why Jesus told His disciples to tell us about the wonderful power of acknowledging what God has done for us. In other words, 1 John 1:9 it! | LISTEN NOW |
info_outline Identity is Still Important | Episode 158 02/01/2019
Identity is Still Important | Episode 158 "Fully immerse yourself in the Lord Jesus -- and don't waste even a moment's thought on your former identity..." (Romans 13:14, TPT). It's easy to lose direction when you're not sure of your identity. And that's been part of our journey on Identity Advantage as we recently made some changes here on the podcast. But what a great lesson for us all. God wants us to know our worth, His love, and His calling on our lives with humble confidence. And this is why knowing your IDENTITY in Christ is still important! info_outline From Our Heart To Our Lips 11/02/2018
From Our Heart To Our Lips In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne shares from the book of Job about adversity, and how quickly it reveals our heart. In fact, Jesus too said, "...out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." When trying to identify where we're at, the best place to look first is at our words.
info_outline God is Able! 10/26/2018
God is Able! One of the best lessons on faith is found in the story of Shedrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Not only did they stand their ground against a fear tactic, but they did so because of WHO they belonged to -- and they knew it! In this episode of IDENTITY ADVANTAGE, I share about 15 minutes of my thoughts on why it's important to stand your ground in faith... because your GOD IS ABLE!

info_outline How Dare We Limit God 09/28/2018
How Dare We Limit God No matter what you are facing, God is saying, "I dare you to truth my love." Because the truth is, He's enough. In this special episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie (share some important news, and) discuss the difference between being a mountain-climber and a mountain-mover. What we need to remember is that faith in our heart is different than doubt in our head -- when doubts arise, answer yourself: Who am I to limit God?!
info_outline The Importance of Faith Friends 09/07/2018
The Importance of Faith Friends The Bible says good friends sharpen you, or should. Everyone needs one or more go-to persons in their life whom they can trust in a crisis to balance and speak straight with them. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie use the story of Samuel and Eli as the backdrop to discuss the importance of having friends who will love you but be unafraid to speak truth (God's Word) to you when needed most. info_outline Cries of the Heart 08/31/2018
Cries of the Heart Praying without words. That's what the woman with the alabaster box did when she wept at the feet of Jesus. And not only did Jesus not turn her away, but the Bible says God puts all our tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about the wholeness that comes from simply pouring your heart out to God, sometimes from a very broken place. info_outline Proverbs 18 08/10/2018
Proverbs 18 Wisdom is the principal thing, and Proverbs holds a lot of wisdom for us. In this episode of IDENTITY ADVANTAGE, Daphne and Angie look at the repeated instruction in Proverbs 18 to pay attention to how much we speak versus how much we listen. But as with other discussions, the Holy Spirit revealed so much more-- including the amazing love of God and how to find your own identity. Click here to listen now in your browser.
info_outline The One Question We're All Afraid to Ask 08/03/2018
The One Question We're All Afraid to Ask Very few people find it comfortable to be completely transparent. Most of us prefer to hide behind our "fig leaves" -- some with just a little covering while others prefer complete coverage. How much more do we feel that way with God? Who really wants to put themselves out there and ask God, "Examine me and tell me what you find..."? In this episode of IDENTITY ADVANTAGE, that's exactly what Daphne and Angie discuss. Amazingly, the truth is, asking God to examine us is probably the best question any of us could ask of God. And we're certain you will agree by the end of this podcast. Tune in! info_outline Why Go? 07/27/2018
Why Go? As Christians, the whole world is our mission field -- whether at work, in your neighborhood, at Walmart, or across the sea. And in this episode of IDENTITY ADVANTAGE, Daphne and Angie talk about their experiences on foreign missions and how "we" are often more changed than the people we minister to. info_outline Faith at the Speed of Light 06/29/2018
Faith at the Speed of Light When you walk into a room and turn on a light switch, light illuminates the room without thought. And the same is true on your exit-- turn off the switch, darkness enters as light leaves. This is the discussion on Identity Advantage this week with Daphne and Angie. Stemmed from an inspiring quote by Kris Vallotan, who said, "The Kingdom moves at the speed of trust" -- they dive into this topic of light, darkness, trust, faith, and authority. Our prayer is that revelation will hit you at the same speed it hit them! Click here to listen now in your browser.
info_outline What Does Love Look Like? 06/08/2018
What Does Love Look Like? EPISODE 147 You'd probably agree it's easy to love those who love you, but what about difficult (or different) people? God told us to love our neighbor, no matter who they are. In fact Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me’" (Matthew 25:35-40). In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie discuss what love looks like and how it shapes our identity in Christ. Click here to listen now in your browser.
info_outline From Beggar To Believer 06/01/2018
From Beggar To Believer No one is exempt from issues in this life. But perspective concerning those issues can be the difference between victory or defeat. In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about the woman with the issue of blood and ask the question, "Do we identify with her or with the anointing that helped her?" Jesus came to multiply Himself (in us). We can be the ones always with an issue, or we can be the one helping others through the anointing. What you IDENTIFY with most is important.
