Event Planning for Podcasters
Have you thought about using events to monetize your podcast? In this episode of the , talks about the top 3 rules about event planning for podcasters and solopreneurs. Events can be a magical experience for everyone, when done properly. As everything has fully opened up after the pandemic and people are trying to add events as a revenue stream again, I’m seeing a lot of missteps. It’s unfortunate, because there a lot of talented people with a lot of wisdom to share, and when they fall into any one of those traps, people get discouraged, disappointed or even hurt, unnecessarily. It’s avoidable. If you’re thinking of using events to monetize your podcast, for example workshops, presentations, networking meetups, summits, conferences, tradeshows, or retreats centered around your message, you must know these 3 Top Rules of Event Planning… First, just so you know, I have planned and promoted over 600 events of all sizes from small meetups to large conferences. No, I didn’t have an event company, per se. It was just one of multiple streams of income I developed to promote my business. I’ve been involved in many events as a speaker many online summits and collaborations. And as an events organizer. I’ve done events through government, corporate and non-profits gigs, and of course my own private events, as well as through a large business network that I founded (and sold a few years ago). So, I know a thing or two about events. Here are 3 rules every podcaster and solopreneur needs to know before adding events as a stream of income... Have you ever heard of the bamboo metaphor? Bamboo doesn’t seem to be doing much for the first two years, but by the third year, large stems begin to breakthrough the surface. Have you ever heard of the bamboo metaphor? Bamboo doesn’t seem to be doing much for the first two years, but by the third year, large stems begin to breakthrough the surface. When the stems finally surface, every node and every leaf are already in place. It was growing all this time. The whole time, unseen, under the earth. It’s actually the fastest growing woody plant on this planet, with some species growing up to 1 meter per day. Up, up, up! You can practically watch it grow. Bamboo is naturally strong and graceful. It symbolizes vitality, flexibility, and tenacity. Bamboo is used for shelter, to fashion tools, and can hold hillsides in place against raging waters. Each stem grows independently, but supports the stems around it. Bamboo propagates quickly, bringing beauty to our world in the form of landscapes, sounds, and feelings. It gives joy and peace to everyone everywhere who sees it, hears it, and feels it. It can be all things. All things. ALL THINGS! It is the paper, it’s the brush, and it’s the inspiration of paintings. Bamboo is on the planet waiting to serve, receive, connect and shine. …As it is, each of you ❤ You have been that gift to me. You are both the GIFT and the GIVER. You are strong and resilient. Your message matters. Your silent growth matters. Through your message you are spreading joy, laugher and connection. Be encouraged! When you use your voice, you are encouraging others to lift their voice. You have helped others to reveal their own strength, beauty, and UNLIMITED possibilities. Or maybe you started something and haven't taken the FINAL STEP. If you've been holding back, Take a deep breath and consider this: You don't need anyone's permission to take the leap.
