info_outlineCaptain Stephanie Lincoln spent 10 years in the US Army before transitioning out and starting her career in nutrition and fitness. Fire Team Whiskey came about after Steph saw how many soldiers were overweight and afflicted with so many health conditions like high blood pressure, injuries, etc. This trend isn't unique to the Army ( as much as we Marines would like to believe). All branches of the military have gotten fatter, following the trend of the US population in general.
When Stephanie saw this happening to active duty military she sounded off with a resounding "Hell no!" and optimized her own fitness and nutrition before founding Fire Team Whiskey, an app-based personal fitness and nutrition service geared to help active duty and military veterans take charge of their health with a ketogenic approach to eating.
I am taking the plunge into a high-fat eating template to get my body fat-adapted. Steph will be coming on the show each month to go over my progress with adapting a ketogenic nutrition approach as I am training up for Ironman Santa Rosa in May of 2019.
In this episode we also cover eating disorders, specifically my own struggle with binge eating and purging. This encompasses both nutrition and mental health, which Stephanie points out is important to address with a mental health professional.
Listeners can sign up with Fire Team Whiskey with a whopping 40% off and get started today. Use promo code "TRANSITION" to save on her coaching.
