She was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1980. She has served congregations in rural and urban settings, ranging in size from 150 to 6000+ members.
Retiring from parish ministry in 2014, that year she became the first clergy person to become a Fascinate® Certified Advisor, using the How To Fascinate® material with faith leaders, nonprofits, and their leadership board to help them improve communication and work together as a team.
For about 5.5 years, Kathleen hosted a live, weekly radio show that was heard internationally. Her guest list included people who talked about spirituality, nonprofit leadership, mission and purpose, and just about anything that can relate to being a leader in a faith community or nonprofit. Kathleen now has a new podcast, Tilted Halo, for women of faith in leadership who feel pressured to be perfect but know perfectly well that they are not.
