Episode 100. Now it all makes sense.. Don't call it a milestone. S'Hershel and I hung out at the Commercial Hotel on a Sunday afternoon and reflected on things, with podcasting, life and whatever in between. We laughed, we sung and were joined by some random guy named Darryl (Port Kembla copped on). Remember to keep an eye on our Facebook page for when we're having our semi regular Sunday sessions on Wentworth Street; the greatest street there is. "Can I watch the end of the footy?"

Episode 99. 2 Kurt's are better than 1 (for some).
I was joined by regular fictional character, S'Hershel Walker, and he brought along his two pals Paul Keys (racking up appearance #2) and someone I've wanted to record with for a long time now, but for legal reasons we'll call him Tragic Johnson. We shot the shit in the beer garden, and even picked up an extra person dressed as William Wallace along the way.

Episode 96. Everybody loves massaman, with S'hershel and Paul Keys.
We start off on a sad note with this one, Wollongong Hip Hop lost one of it's more colourful characters last week, rest in peace to Rob The Rich as well as condolences to his family and friends. Afterwards it's the return of S'Hershel Walker, wherein he brought his mate over to my place a few weeks ago. We drank wine, ate garlic bread & spaghetti and talked utter silliness. With a few sneaky songs thrown in for good measure. Spoiler alert: I wasn't the one singing or attempting any music of any kind, never fear.

This week I had a chat with Nik Ranger of Melbourne band Dada Ono. Did we talk about music? Hell nawww! That would be too professional of me wouldn't it? Be that as it may, we had a lovely chat about a bunch of things, but it all ends with Star Trek, cats and podcasts, which basically sums up my life. The music speaks for itself anyway, for which you'll hear in the episode. You can go two better though, head over to their and get Dada Ono's album , and head out to Dicey Riley's this Saturday night and see them in person if you happen to be in the Wollongong area. Episode 93. Back to Iron Fist, with Sweeney.
THIS WEEK! It's a good ole fashioned bit o waxing philosophical with Sweeney, live from the West Coast. If you've been listening for a while, you'll know his voice, and maybe even know him in person. If you haven't and you're new, first of all welcome, and then second of all; brace yourselves to hear two grown men, who could talk to each other underwater and with mouths full of rocks about pretty much anything. I'm almost 34 and I still have no idea how sentences should be structured, oh and I say "basically" a lot now it seems.

Episode 92. You're out of your element Donnie, with Jochen Gutsch of Hinterlandt.
Sometimes, doing this silly podcast affords me the opportunity to be exposed to people and ideas I may have never come across. Sometimes I even get to talk to these purveyors of interesting ideas and projects, and this is one of these episodes. Meet Jochen Gutsch, the sound architect behind the Sydney instrumentalist group . Jochen was nice enough to take some time out of his day to tell me about his journey from Germany to Australia, and his decades of playing very eclectic music. are touring at the moment and will be playing in Wollongong at this Friday night (24th of March) launching their latest album, , through Sydney label; . I've included a couple of their songs on this episode, but do yourself a favour and listen to the whole album yourself. Find it on , or head to their site () to get their history and links to all of their music and future shows. Massive thanks to Jochen for chatting to me and enduring my very basic attempts at humour!

We were even lucky to get a surprise cameo from a guy none of us knew. All in an afternoons podcasting. I know I've used the intro song before, but it's called "" so it's food, so it's related. That and it's a gritty pimpsploitation movie compressed into 4 minutes. In the most awesome of ways.

Episode 88. The 1st Annual Wollygong Poddies Meetup with Peter Langstaff.
Last month, myself and Peter Langstaff met up once again at the world famous Dicey Riley's just before he embarked on his monthlong voyage around Australia following The Boss himself, John Cougar Mellencamp.. You'll get that poor attempt at humour when you hear it. Anyway, as the Springsteen tour comes to a close, check in on to read all about his adventures following one of his favourite artists all over the country. When Kid Rock does an Australia wide tour one day, I'll be sure to follow in Peter's footsteps. ALSO! So, I'm 'up for' an award at the Castaway podcasting awards in April. Look, I'm no chance to win, has it sewn up by the looks of it, and rightfully so. But hey, if you'd like to help a brother out and sling a vote my way then follow this link. Thanks in advance!

Episode 87. She's a Poet.
The return!.... Again! This one has a loooong intro. Long. Sixteen minutes to be precise, including the song. A note on the intro song; it's from the recently released RTJ3 by the mighty-mighty Run The Jewels and features Zach De La Rocha and it's awesome. I can't remember if I dreamt this, or it's actually a legitimate rumour, but I've heard somewhere that there's a Zach De La Rocha solo album in the works with production handled entirely by El-P. I hope this is true, but there's been infinite talk of a De La Rocha solo album over the years with only One Day As a Lion the only thing to closely resemble that. That all being said, if you haven't heard any Run the Jewels, and this intro is your first exposure, then head over to and cop all their shit for free. If you want to pay you can do that too. So on this episode, Louise joins me just after we watched the Robert De Niro/Anne Hathaway starring vehicle, The Intern. Spoiler alert: I loved it. I'm a simple man it seems. We also reflected on 2016, discussed observing how different children do things in different ways and different timelines, and a whole lot of other tangents and non sequitur's. News: The Illawarra Music and Record Fair is returning in 2017! This time at City Diggers in Wollongong on Sunday May 7th. Head over to The Crate Diggers Collective's Facebook page for more info.

ALL. STAR. (pod)CAST. YO. Myself, and S. Hershel Walker returned to the Illawarra Record Fair for the 3rd time this year and recorded TWO episodes. This is part one, where we were joined by and two former Vox FM alums in and Bruno the Bluesman, also known as Dr. Dust, according to . We neglected to actually clarify that, but it sounds cool. I always wanted a cool nickname, like Smokey, but it never took off. It's not the same when you name yourself. We took in the scenery, had some pub-grub and talked a colossal amount of codswallop about a bunch of things. As mentioned above, this is part one. It would always shit me when podcasts split up episodes into two parts, but I'd like to think we do it artfully.. Or that's what I'm telling myself anyway. Plus you always end up becoming what you hate the most. It's a fact of life. Stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon...ish.

Peter Langstaff is a really nice guy. Until very recently he was a part of the long running local music radio show "" on . On top of that, he plays and makes music too. A few weeks ago we met up at Dicey Riley's to talk about music, podcasts, comedy and of course radio. In particular, community radio. On this episode, basically I come to terms with the fact that Vox FM is my 'White Whale', or in the podcast parlance; they are the Lorne Michaels to my Marc Maron.. Seeing that typed out makes me look pretty sad indeed! Nevertheless, this one was really fun because I got to chat to a guy I've heard of and know about, but never actually met and it was good times all round. Episode 81. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why podiums were invented.
The Sheap is back! This time around Sean Sheap and I met up at Dicey Riley's and talked a bunch of smack. Topics covered were the internet, hip hop culture and The Get Down, the downfall of Masters, other things and of course the internet. Yes, I wrote "the internet" twice. Now I've said it three times, and if I was to list it corresponding with the amount of times it comes up on the episode this post would be close to infinite. Oh, and I struggle with the word "plural" it seems, hash tag: #prural. The documentary we were talking about, but couldn't remember the name of is called "Fresh Dressed" and can be found on here on Netflix. We also talk about Sean's friend who did some tremendous custom figurines for him, so if you'd like some of your own that's where to go. Last but not least, the Sheap has been uploading some videos on his Facebook page of late, showcasing his wizardry on the 1's and 2's, so if you're not already on that or his online archiving of his vinyl collection go and get yourself acquainted! Both of these fine gentlemen are comics creators, ambassadors, educators and all round great blokes. Another thing they have in common is their superb and iconic poster design; in Marcelo's case in the form of the that you may have seen around the traps earlier in the year, and Pat drew this years now infamous that has been plastered up and down the South Coast, even making its way as far as Sydney. They both gracefully agreed to meet me at down at Globe Lane to talk about their craft, comics and design history as well as a little bit of life spruced in for good measure. However, most importantly I wanted to talk with Pat about his spectacular book , and the subsequent live reading/performance which is happening at the Arts Precinct in , as a part of the Fringe Festival events. We also talked about the fellers current and previous projects, all of which you can find links to below. I suggest you check them all out. Episode 78. Doesn't make a cent with Troy and Arlin.
I hung out with Troy and Arlin at Troys studio last weekend. I've known Troy forever, we grew up just a few houses away and, along with our respective sisters, spent a fair bit of time together as young'ns having all kinds of adventures.. Then high-school happened. Some people thrive in that environment, some people don't and others have no idea what is going on most of the time and bullshit their way through to 'fit-in' the best that they can. I'm of the third category persuasion.. At least I think I was, it was all a good while ago now. Hash tag; I'm old. Troy has always marched to the beat of his own drum, and that has led him to an existence where he creates things on a daily basis. His friend Rachel, who goes by the name Arlin when making music, joined us and we had a chat about their respective projects all whilst having a good old fashioned conversation jam session over a couple of cold beverages. Oh, and this picture was waiting for me when I arrived to record, drawn by the maestro Troy himself. If you're not familiar with either Troy or Arlin's work be sure to check the links to their networks I've included below.

I've mentioned Andy on the podcast numerous times before, and now he's on Pod Kembla! Ahh the magic of podcasts.. So now you're going to hear me talking about 9 million* dollars until it arrives, ALL. THE. TIME. YAWL! No, in all seriousness, I came across Andy at the beginning of the year through his podcast "", but that's not all he does. He's also very prominently the bassist in Australian metal band "" and has toured the world with them. However, his podcast is what I've come to know him for. If you haven't already, you should definitely check it out on , or any of the other various platforms he has available to get it. He has an array of interesting guests on his show, and I always feel like I've learned something after listening. Whether it be about music, philosophy, business and a broader sense life in general. This is probably something I should be putting in an iTunes review to be honest.. Which I may just do once I get this little blurb thing finished and the episode uploaded.
