Latest announcements

To let you keep you informed about what I'm doing, you can subscribe to the podcast. I'll have the latest announcements in the show notes. I'll also keep posting teachings, information, and events on my website; all the links to everything will be here. The latest podcast, all the podcasts, Steve's YouTube channel, Zoom, and Dial-In inks.

As I search the Scriptures, I will teach what I learn from my home fellowship and other places I'm invited to teach. I want to get those teachings out to others so they, too, can continue to learn how to read their Bibles for themselves. That's my goal. I'll continue to have my local fellowships and other Biblical studies on Zoom.

I will always be available to ask biblical questions if you ever have one. You ask me questions, and I'll do my best to answer them according to my study of what the Scriptures say. Contact information will be on my website and all podcast show notes.

The episodes will appear in your email if you subscribe to the podcast. This will be the easiest and best way for you to keep up with my teaching and be informed of what I'll be doing, or look at my website to see the teachings I have posted.

Philippians 2:15 "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"

Philippians 2:1– 6  "If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"

In verse 6, “Thought it not robbery to be equal with God” in the King James.

The word “robbery" is difficult to understand.  It is the Greek word haragmos and is only used here—no root or parent word.  Greek literature uses that word as “by force” or “pluck.”  One lexicon definition is: “Something to be eagerly seized upon.”

In the American Standard Version, it reads: "who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,"

In The Centenary Translation: The New Testament in Modern English (Helen Barrett Montgomery) translated it as “Did not reckon equality with God something to be forcibly retained,”

But the Devil did. But look at how Jesus handled his assignment.

Philippians 2:7-11 "But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Jesus Christ humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death.

Look at what Adam did.

Genesis 2:16:  "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:"

"Thou mayest freely eat."

YLT Genesis 2:16 "And Jehovah God layeth a charge on the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden eating thou dost eat;."

Genesis 2:17: "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

"Thou shalt surely die."

YLT Genesis 2:17 "and of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou dost not eat of it, for in the day of thine eating of it -- dying thou dost die.'"

The Fall of Adam and Eve

Genesis 3:1 "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

YLT Genesis 3:1 "And the serpent hath been subtile above every beast of the field which Jehovah God hath made, and he saith unto the woman, 'Is it true that God hath said, Ye do not eat of every tree of the garden?'"

Who is the serpent? Remember from Revelation 12:9 “The great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan,” subtle, sly, wise. “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (1) She questions the integrity of the Word of God—what did God say—Genesis 2:16 & 17.

Genesis 3:2: "And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:"

YLT Genesis 3:2 "And the woman saith unto the serpent, 'Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we do eat,"

And the woman said unto the serpent” (2). She responds by considering.

Genesis 3:3 "But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."

YLT Genesis 3:3 "and of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden God hath said, Ye do not eat of it, nor touch it, lest ye die.'"

(3) She omits the word “surely,” and (4) then adds the words “or touch it” and “lest” which means maybe or perhaps.

Genesis 3:4 "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:"

YLT Genesis 3:4 "And the serpent saith unto the woman, 'Dying, ye do not die,'"

Then the serpent (5) changes the Word completely to “Ye shall not surely die” or "dying thou shalt not die’."

God said – "Dying thou shalt surely die." The serpent said – "Dying thou shall not die."  The same is the lie being told today. ‘You don’t die. You go somewhere else’.   Even people who do not believe in God say this.

Romans 5:12:  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

Death is the loss of spirit that day and, eventually, the loss of physical life.

Ephesians 2:1 - 22 "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."

May God Bless you Abundantly
