info_outlineIn today’s episode, I chat with Joe, who is the founder of DRNKS. DRNKS is a collection of sustainable, organic, biodynamic wines from around the world that Joe and his team source from about 2,000 different suppliers. This quickly became one of my favorite businesses as a consumer. As I had my consumer experience with DRNKS, I fell in love with the business model, the customer service, the product, the branding, everything about it.
Joe shared his incredible story, the ups and the downs of coming up with an idea that was addressing the gap in the marketplace. Joe shares about what he had to do to overcome the fear of taking the gamble and the risk of jumping into this business model that he has created for himself. He also shared some insight into consumer-based marketing, using the audience to help you to market and spread the word. He shared what it takes to have good customer service even when things don’t go to plan.
One of my favorite pieces of advice that Joe gave throughout this is what it takes to build a reputable brand, becoming the go-to source. When you build your reputation enough then you don’t need to market or oversell yourself because you’re able to hold a reputation and energy that people know what they’re coming to get.
