Over 2,000 years ago, the world experienced an event that changed it forever. For Christians, we understand the birth of Christ and the important role that it plays in our faith and in our world. It’s a crucial part of our faith.

There are a lot of similarities in the birth of Christ that we can find in our day today. We are in a situation in which there are a lot of unknowns for our country. We are facing the unknown with radical leaders, radical politicians who want to push us to communism. We are facing the left-wing agenda, that wants to remove our freedoms, disarm us, remove our ability to worship, and go about our lives as we want. It’s an interesting time in our country.

In Luke 2 in the scriptures, you find some interesting similarities. Caesar Augustus, the Roman ruler from the day had ordered that everyone needed to be taxed and that they must return to their own city to be counted and taxed. Caesar Augustus was a leader of war, who was responsible for a massive expansion of the Roman empire. He was not someone that was friendly. He was a hard ruler.

It was a time of challenges. The situation for the Jews changed in just over 30 years after Jesus Birth, just as ours has changed over the last few decades. All of that said, one thing that the birth of Jesus did is show that there was hope for the future. No one during that day knew what was going to happen some 30 years later. Mary and Joseph knew that Jesus was being born for a special reason, but they had no idea how their lives would change in the coming years. This year, we’ve seen how quickly our world can change.

From a pandemic, riots and violence, a disputed election, and exposed corruption, this year has been full of craziness. As Christians, we can look to Christmas to see that even in the midst of craziness, we still have hope for the future.

Just as the angel told those Shepherds in the field that night, we do not have to worry or fear as a Christian in the middle of all these unknowns. We can confidently stand in the middle of these unknowns and fight for the causes that we know are ones worth fighting for. Because we know that we have a hope that is well beyond the Republicans and the Democrats. It’s something that neither party can take away from us this Christmas.

They want to take away and give away everything else we have, but this is one thing they can’t. We must continue to stand against ridiculous spending. We need to continue to fight for our freedoms that are guaranteed by the Constitution. We need to continue to fight for the American voice, against election fraud, and silencing of viewpoints that may not go along with what the mainstream media and the left want. We need to continue to fight for the unborn and support life.

While things may look a little disappointing right now, we have to realize that we have a hope that is beyond all of the things in our world right now. Over 2,000 years ago we received the gift of a Savior, one that was born into this wicked world to give us hope.
