I met Ieva Trejia when I was speaking at a conference and marketing lab in Latvia. Bright, practical, and ambitious, I admire her drive to improve her community. She is the host of the Baltic Startup Mafia podcast, editor of Labs of Latvia, and serves clients as a content marketing strategist. She is also a Certified Facilitator in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method, which is totally awesome. I hope you enjoy this chat with my friend, Ieva Trejia, as we talk about staying active during lockdown in Latvia, startups, and marketing. https://www.linkedin.com/in/ievatreija/ https://marketingfans.lv...

I met Reggie Burton of RB Group when I was working at the Las Vegas Urban League. We had received a grant for installing public computer centers all around the Las Vegas valley, along with trainers and scheduled programming. Reggie worked on public relations for the project and I did the marketing. We've stayed in touch now for over a decade. I've always admired his integrity and communication skills. I never expected that we would be doing mental health awareness together. July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. If you are feeling vulnerable right now you may want to skip over this...

This is my longest podcast yet on "1 Luckygirliegirl." I have leaned hard on Dane Wilson for creative projects, for content creation, and for managing projects in business for YEARS. Not only is he a hiLARious comedian, he probably has one of the kindest hearts you will ever encounter. He's been leading a writer's group in LA for nearly 13 years. He has directed and produced films and has written acceptance speeches and narrations for some of Hollywood's most talented actors. I know Deborah Porter from community events around Las Vegas. She's a marketing professional who always has some exciting new company or project or event that she is promoting. Hanae El Bayousfi is head of Engagement and Marketing at xHUB, a global IT company and she is also co-founder of DevoxxMA, the largest tech conference in the middle east and Africa region. I actually met Hanae's husband, Badr, FIRST while keynoting their tech conference. At the time of that first meeting, we were all enjoying a delicious lunch of fish and vegetable tagines just outside the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. It has the second tallest minaret in the world and quite a sight to see.

I met Amy Kapernick through speaking at tech conferences. As a front-end developer, she's been her own boss since January 2014. She is a co-organizer for DDD Perth as well as a volunteer at many other tech organizations in Australia. She's also a Twilio Champion, Microsoft MVP in the category of Developer Technologies, and apparently, a purveyor of cows. I really miss these in-person conversations with friends, but I'm glad we can still catch up despite COVID travel restrictions. Tune in to this episode of 1 Luckygirliegirl and be a fly-on-the-wall for my conversation with Amy about lockdown...

Martine Dowden is a UX designer born in Thionville, in the Northeast of France. Creative, grounded, and apparently handy around the house, I first became friends with Martine through the tech community while speaking at conferences. She's super talented (you should ask her about the time she replaced their downstairs toilet and remodeled the entire bathroom on a random afternoon). Her success in business and her drive for making technology accessible to all people is an inspiration to any programmer who is in product development. Tune in to this episode of 1 luckygirliegirl as Martine and I...

I spoke at BuildStuff in Lithuania and Ukraine in the "before times" about emotional intelligence. BuildStuff organizer, Neringa Young, was the quintessential conference host. She runs a beautiful conference, from branding, to the vendors, to the VALUE delivered. I've spoken on all 7 continents and never have I attended a tech conference where 50% of the attendees were female. In this podcast episode, hear how the coronavirus has effected life in Lithuania and learn the strategy for her operating a tech conference for 10 successful years. Be sure to stay tuned for her upcoming book which will...

I met Tania Kampana a few years ago while delivering a keynote and a training workshop at VoxxedDays in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since then, we've stayed in touch while she moved up the career ladder, negotiating a pay increase, and then landing a DevOps position at a new company. She understands the value of how maintaining your physical health also improves your mental health. This is especially important while COVID pressures add mental strain to our lives. Tune in to this conversation with Tania Kampana as we discuss what COVID has been like in Greece, relocating cities for a new job during a...

I met Ceciley through a mutual friend about 3 or 4 years ago. Since she works in the casino industry, it's convenient for us to meet in Downtown Las Vegas after work for food, drinks, or other events. We always have a blast together. Her quick-witted and candid way of telling stories just cracks me up. These are the everyday moments with friends that I have missed since the novel coronavirus interrupted our lives. I look forward to having in-person conversations again, but until then, you can be a fly-on-the wall for my recent Zoom call with Ceciley. Everyone, please enjoy this conversation we...
