info_outlineHow can tidbits and a switch increase love?
You’re listening to the Love Tidbits Podcast, where you’ll discover a small, tasty, delightful, bite-sized tidbit of love. I’m your host, LeAnn Austin.
Hey y’all, welcome to Love Tidbits, episode number one: Light Switch & Tidbits
A few years ago, I was having a conversation with a friend. I can’t remember exactly what she was talking about, but I do remember her saying, “I looked terrible today.” Later on, she said, “I do okay for a while. And then I mess everything up.” And then a few minutes later, she said, “I’m just not good enough.” I thought a lot about that interaction and noticed other people in my world saying mean things about themselves too. I then realized I was telling myself similar things along with, “if I was a better mom”, then my boys would do whatever it was I was thinking at the time that they should be doing.
This was a time in my life when I was learning some amazing life coaching tools and really focusing on strengthening my mental and emotional muscles. And I became very interested in the topic of unconditional love. Then, in the middle of the night, when my best inspiration comes, between 3:00 and 5:00 AM, I had a light switch moment.
What if, I was thinking, every time I turn a light on, or I see the sunshine, I tell myself something I love about me. I wake up in the morning, turn the bathroom light on and say, “LeAnn, I love your beautiful green eyes.” I’m working in my office, I turn the light on and say, “LeAnn, I love how you connected with that client.” I’m walking outside. I look at the sunshine and say, “LeAnn, I don’t know about how you talked to that adult child, but that’s okay, I love you anyway.” So I didn’t do things perfectly, but I constantly reinforced through light, all the things I love about. And so began myLovin Me journey, which interestingly enough has not only improved my relationship with myself, but also with all the amazing humans all around me.
Well, I also love the word “Tidbit”. It means a small tasty, delightful bite-sized morsel. This is how I’ve increased love for myself and love for others, through tidbits of love. This Love Tidbits podcast is a place where you’ll hear nuggets of tenderness and compassion, easy tips and ideas to increase the love you feel, and beautiful perspectives from others allabout love.
Each podcast will end with a quote or a question to ponder. Today’s quote is from John Morton. “There is no limit to the power of loving.”
Hmmm, something to think about.
Have a good one y’all and here’s to love.
